Very nice!
How about a picture of behind the rack. ;)
What material was used for the drapes if you know.
Would like to see that room complete and fully dressed up.

These are the only 2 photos I have of the rear so far:

all wires moved from structured can into rack:

labels on MRF shown:

The drape material will be specified by the interior designer and hung by a drape installer. We are only the technical, installation and programming guys - we don't touch drape fabric.

Easy day so far. I should quit now because if I have to do something else, it will probably ruin it.

Went to a local trailer manufacturing facility to troubleshoot the music system. They have 8 pendant speakers (70V) out in the production area. AM/FM tuner. Old school Biamp Precedence CMA350 mixer/amp. They had the Biamp repaired and it has not worked right since. Not sure how long it has been, but they cannot turn the volume up loud enough because it gets distorted.

I flipped the input switch from "Mic" to "Line", cranked it up, and walked out on the production floor and started getting "thank you" and "awesome!" from all the workers. It felt good to make a difference. The manager had mentioned that morale had not been the same without the tunes. Hell, I could not hear a damn thing over all the heavy machinery. Everyone wears ear plugs. They must really crank it up I guess.

Next, I went to a project we did about a year ago and added speakers and a keypad in the garage. Other than a damaged speaker, that went quick and easy.

Jimmy Johns BLT and an early off sound like a good plan for the afternoon. It is going to be too hot to work anyway. Supposed to get to 85. Yikes!

Failed at installing a James pipe sub today as the behemoth was to large for the space in the basement. Halfway through a cool project with a good client.

Started off crappy ended with satisfaction.

Did a walk through of the most expensive house we have worked in so far. We also had to program a couple URC remotes that hopefully we will be replacing with a better solution for this house. They parted ways with the previous integrators and it was not a good break up. The system is a mishmosh of Crestron, Pronto, Zeevee... The only thing that is centralized is the Crestron which handles D/A and lighting. The wiring on the rack is probably the worst I have seen to date. Just to swap out the Pronto base for a MRF350 was a two hour chore.

Dedicated home theater, conduit poking through sheetrock rather than being cut back above the ceiling:

Rock speakers:

Will be drafting up a proposal to replace/fix all or most of what is in there and start fresh. Already told her at the very least we will HAVE to break down that rack and rewire. I found 5 extension cords inside the rack with multiple wall warts plugged into them. I cannot even see any of the Crestron gear towards the bottom, it is impossible to see with the amount of wiring covering it.

Nice folks and a shame that they were taken advantage of like this.

You better not be swapping Crestron out for that Totol control stuff you peddle around town.

Actually, it will do more and be more reliable than what they have in there now

Not sure what the problem is. We have not decided what path to go. The way the system is currently setup, TC actually makes a good amount of sense. They have gear all over the house, nothing centralized. All areas are hard wired with network lines though. If they truely want to stick with Crestron, no problem. She mentioned that she prefers not to deal with subcontractors due to some past experiences, and I would have to bring in a Crestron dealer (I know exactly who I would and he's great, so not worried there). We will be on site tomorrow again for a couple small things and will be going over the lighting system to take inventory of the entire system.

Tough decision here. Only because of the lighting control from Crestron. I bid on a job that had Crestron lighting control switches only. No equipment. I bid Doing a Total Control System but really, Crestron would have made more sense. If you are not a Crestron Dealer, It will be tough to make money on this project. I would try and start over with what you do know or it will end up making your Crestron buddy more money than you.
