Today I fixed one window on the project VW.
It now has ONE window that actually rolls up and down. :-)

Today we updated the system in HP's "Briefing Center" from a troublesome rgbhv/vga matrix to HDMI. 4 binary b500 extenders from the conference table to a shinybow matrix along with 2 other previous HDMI extenders from a podium, dish hd dvr, and Apple tv , outputs to 3 LCD panels and a rear projection setup. Extron HDMI audio de-embedder feeds the clear one/rane/crown audio system. I am worried......because everything just up and worked straight away. WTF?
Gotta love walking into a job with a handful of new parts and leaving with a truckload of old crap. :)

I had to replace a regulator a few years ago and got the cheap chinese one. I had to put the window back in the clips last weekend and am waiting for it to fail any minute. Passenger side gets stuck too. Fun fun. I think I can replace a window regulator and motor in under 20 minutes now. :P

GTFO! A VW with a working window? It's a 67 convertible, so it has 4 opening windows. And try to find anyone that has regulators for a vert. The driver side was frozen in position, passenger side was frozen and had broken off at a hinge point. The rear ones are just gunked up so bad it takes some serious effort to make them work, so they have to come out to be cleaned up. Fun stuff though.

Cory, very sorry for your loss! Today I finished up a two day job that consisted of completely redoing a house network system. Pulled over 1200 ft of cat5 in the attic. House is 7800ish sq.ft single story so the home is insanely long which required 5 unifi Aps to properly cover it. A last minute addition to this one was to try and figure out how to get wireless into a bomb shelter 40ft underground. In the initial consultation he "forgot" to tell me about it. This brought the total to 6 Home was built in the 50s and the previous owner was obviously very paranoid. One of the most elaborate bomb shelters in the Philadelphia area the homeowners were told by a "bomb shelter inspector" it has 3 escape hatches, 1 goes to an unknown location somewhere in the neighborhood, the inspector is almost certain it comes up under a house 1/4 mile from the property. It also has a positive air pressure filtration system and water access (well)with reverse osmosis filtration. 3 2,000lb blast doors for the main entrance and 3 300 lb doors for the escape hatches. The amount of utilities that are required to keep this shelter running is truly impressive. They can't seal it off as the house is integrated into it in numerous ways, the biggest being the air handling system. He was told he cannot shut it off as the house would have no heat or air, and to replace it would be well over 100,000k to rework the HVAC system. He has to spend roughly 8500 a year for a shelter expert to come and maintain it quarterly. It involves replacing filters and doing routine maintenance that apparently is required.(was not disclosed to them when they bought the home) The previous owner was extremely paranoid, the attic is/was outfitted with an elaborate motion alarm system complete with shock, noise and vibration sensors. Every door in the house has a sensor as well as a now non functioning laser sensor system similar to a bank that was installed throughout the home. There are also two safe rooms (now closets and storage)and and extremely elaborate elevator system that would take him up to the attic to allow him to move throughout the house to the two safe rooms incase of intrusion. The house was neat but very odd. It was eye opening to see how paranoid and scared everyone was in the Cold War era. The bomb shelter in the 50's cost well over 200k to construct, which would equate to an insane amount of money to build today, nobody can figure out why there are 3 escape hatches though. 1 was standard, but 2 is literally unheard of for a residential shelter and is one of two in the US to have that. It has been turned into a gym and the security system has been replaced by a wireless dsg system. Pretty cool though.

Pretty cool though. That IS cool! Apparently the guy had a lot of $$$ too. Thinking back on the cold war days, and the Cuban missle crisis (I was about 12)... We all lived in total fear each day of the big white flash of a Nuclear bomb attack. I still remember the weekly tests of the huge air raid sirens set up around the city, and at school practicing the duck and cover under our desks! It WAS a scarey time!

Thanks guys.
spent the week disconnecting and reconnecting computers at a couple schools, dismounting and installing a couple smart boards.
Installed a wall mount network rack and 40 data lines (cat6 with spine). Trimming out 80 lines on keystones in one day still kills my fingers!!
patched it all in, wire managed three 30' rows of 12 computers each with just 4 outlets and the data jacks all at one end. So lots of long patch cords, power strips and extensions cords and some creativity to keep from stacking surge strips.

On Wednesday I met with Ryan (BigPapa) on the Big Island. We enjoyed a few beers at a spot right across the street from the ocean and watched the sun set. Many topics were discussed including work history, business practices, and the current state of the industry while projecting into the future. A good time was had by all. Thanks for a great time Ryan!

Love JB's music, he is amazing and puts on great shows.
Something about him irritates the shiz out of me. Been trying for a long time to figure out what it is but cant put my finger on it.
All his performances are phenomenal, glad you had a good time.

He was in Des Moines, Iowa. He is touring the mid west. This was the first time I've seen him. Will for sure go next time I have the chance. He isn't afraid to charge a hefty price for tickets though.
