Very impressive! I love the attention to detail on the DTV SWM setup.

Quick question, what LNB are you using to have over 8 tuners with (2) 8 way splitters?

Very Clean!!!!

the only swm that should ever be used on a custom job.....a 4 wire LNB and an actual swm module.

ALWAYS run 4 coax from dish to head end. then you can use a SWM8, SWM16, or SWM32, or even custom configurations to accomodate 64, 128, etc tuners.

even if client chooses 8 or under and doesnt want to spend extra on SWM module, DTV installer can just use 1 of the 4 coax for the SWM LNB. then when they want to add the 9th tuner, you can upgrade then
I love supporting product that supports me!

Good info

mwstorch, What is the brand of the 1u RG6 plates you are using and what is the db loss of each of those barrel connectors? Do you have any issues with DTV saying that those type of barrel connectors can't be used?

I removed a Pioneer 64" rear pro from a basement. It went straight to the landfill. What a beast. I then proceeded to install a Sony KDL60W850 in its stead. What a POS. Who thought it would be cool to shape the TV like a wedge? Good thing it went into a recess where the Pioneer used to be because the thing sticks out 5" from the wall!

And then I programmed the Intellicontrol to operate the new TV. :) Score!

We source them from Vadcom. They are 3ghz isolated barrels with a -30db return loss which converts to about 0.01db insertion loss.

Awesome. Was reading the post about Photobucket, copied the direct link and voila! I've been meaning to search for threads about posting pictures and this saved me the trouble lol. Thanks Ernie.

PS. This is an old picture, but since I haven't uploaded to Photobucket in ages, it's one of the few I have in there.
