Mr. Stan,
it seems to me your buddy owes you. Can he help you out?

Simon.

Boring day over all...

Sat in Netstreams Advanced class...

Guy next to me had a missing driver on his Lan card so I get nominated to figure it out and fix it.

Talked to A$A$ reps about tomorrow's class.

Headed over to a customers house who has had a major falling out with the dealer that contracts me. Changed all her network stuff around at her request. Listen to her gripes about dealer.

Head over to next job and get almost the same gripes verbatim from next customer... starting to see a trend.

Call from another dealer asking if I can check something remotely and see why there is no communication.

Meet my wife for dinner...

When I got home... Log in and find he has made all the right settings for the apps except opening the firewall port. (Windows firewall is by port rather then app for settings like rdp.) Make a modified rdp port and email him back.

Just another day.

Wow! Thanks! I'll call you today to confirm... Do you sell Pioneer Plasmas? (Not Elite)... This guy wants a 60 inch, but none of my sources have em.

Thanks again - & maybe you could make a little $$$

Holy sheit! Suddenly I am stressed, and thats just from
reading it.

Stanley, If you were a little closer I would head up there
and help you out myself. Try and stay relaxed and you'll
do just fine. When we start stressing we tend to work
three times harder and get 1/2 as much done. Good luck
man.

Thanks for the REALITY CHECK... That is totally true (at least for me)... when I get underr the gun, I go too fast, and then I start screwing up, and my mind locks-up... I found myself running around the place and each time I walked over to my tools... forgot why I walked over there... Tripping over the floor & carpet guys, stepping in some wet cement in the driveway. Then this big tatooed -up, burly guy mentioned something to the builder about( "his tiny thing") --- when discussing a part he needed to install under a sink... & I made the mistake of saying... " Heh, Heh -That's what your wife says"... Just trying to crack a joke... He looked at me and said -"Hey man, I don't F**kin' EVEN KNOW YOU".. and got all pissed like he was going to deck me or something... I should have just kept my mouth shut I later went over an apologised to the guy and gave him a Rock Star 16 ouncer, so now we're buds.

Oh, yeah... Can't get stressed... I guess we can only do what we can do, right?
Once I start to hurry my work turns to sh*t.

I've also got to do what Paul McCartney's wife should do too --- That is -- SHUT UP!

A little help.

Go to www.photobucket.com and set up a free account. Then upload the pics you wish to post to photobucket. Once the pic is uploaded you will be able to see it on the screen with a couple of boxes next to it. One of the boxes will be the HTML Tag. Right click on the tag and copy it. You can then paste that HTML tag into a message here. Don't put anything else on the same lines as the HTML tag and it should work fine.

Simon.

Here is one I finished on Friday. I already had the TV, speakers and rack installed. In 15 hours (6 with assistant) I retrofitted two new network drops, installed a new router, switch and 2 WAPs into the distributed panel we had retrofitted earlier this year, configured the network, stripped out the rack, installed a Tivo series 3, Pioneer Blue ray, and a new Denon 3808, Installed Twonky on the Apples, rewired the rack, altered the distributed audio configration, Installed a new RTI system using a T2C and RP6 to run all three zones, programmed the system based in part off a T3 configuration I had including separate Tivo and Comcast device pages and using substantial page tracking logic (flags) that track active zones and sources so the pages will flip to active devices in active zone automatically when a zone is shutdown.

This after closing on $65k+ in jobs (most at or under $12K) in the last four weeks (many of them also started in this period) including 8 T3s and 1 T2C in which I was survey, sales, design, lead tech, programmer, trainer and accounts receivable. Somewhere in there (on a weekend I believe) I retrofitted my first Radio RA system with 17 legs, numerous multi-locations, two transformers and a fair amount of correcting shaddy prior electrical work.

I need those four days comming up!

I updated 3 different older Pronto's thanks to Direct Tv and their updates at three different locations. Programmed and tested a RP-1 and T3, then we went and hung an Elite 60" in which we met the cabinet makers that morning to design the cabinet. Took my lunch break about 8 last night...

Those Elite's look so sweet, but as I was driving home I realized that I had a Blue Ray player in the back of my truck that I was supposed to install as well... D'oh

I raced over this Saturday morning to attempt to finish up a house that needs a ton of crap done... I was going to be there all weekend.
It is raining dogs and cats here in Seattle today (heavy rain even by our standards), traffic is horrific... I get to the house and there is a frowning General contractor standiung in the garage...

Hey Stanley, the floors still are not completely dry... don't come back until Monday!!!

Woo Hoo!!! I'm heading home to watch the DVD of The WHO Live @ The ISLE of Wright & will be able to crank the volume because no one else will be home!!! A DVD to be played at maximum volume if there ever was one.

If you saw the hours I have been keeping lately you would debate how productive and efficient... stupid or crazy may be a better description.
