Roby, what app are you using for the iPad's. It sounds like you already know Crestron, so working with Prodigy is probably pretty simple for you.

I have a system right now that I'm trying to decide what I want to do. They have a Bose LS48. They want a control solution plus to add 2 zones of audio (6 amp channels, all outdoor). I'm really thinking of just doing a PMC2+ combo with a PAMP. They are switching to iPhones and getting an iPad and so they will be using itunes regularly. Because of this, I'm thinking Apple TV will be a great option for them, but still haven't been able to work with an ATV module yet, let alone with Prodigy.

As much as I love apple tv, its not what it used to be. They haven't updated it in a while and i have a feeling something new is coming from apple soon in this category.

Meanwhile, the p-idocv is a great solution. Plop a large ipod in there and install the Mac crestron sync software for iTunes. You can then keep the iPod in the doc at all times, and iTunes Will syncc with ipod over network nigtly.

That way it will have the same music on it that the apple tv does.

Meanwhile i bought a great gui fx template for the 3x/x3 and it works great. I figured out how to do all my own custom meta data from idoc and put it in to the guy fx theme for browsing and viewing ipod data. Looks 1000 times better then the stock theme and its way less bloated. I do all programming from scratch in system builder/vtpro. I don't let it build any pages for me at all.

Very fun, great learning experience. And it makes the prodigy system that much more valuable.

This is great. I'd love to see some screen shots or anything you could do to help me with this. I will be diving into trying to customize more like this here very soon with my personal system first.

Thats pretty much where i landed a few years ago. So much time was spent trying to figure out/work around system builder that i gave up. I build the GUI in vtpro and add all the join numbers. Then i copy paste the pages into the system builder generated vtp files. I use global presets for simple activity/off macros.

System Builder has been great for 1 room systems and simple distributed AV. Once the requested feature set grows beyond that a programmer is used and i go back to wiring the racks.

Yea, me too - I'd love to see some screenshots etc

PS, anyone tried integrating Apple TV with ATV Flash into a prodigy system?

crestron sync for mac:
[Link: crestron.com]

for the guifx theme / ipod two way
check out this pdf:

[Link: guifx.com]

look at bottom of second page, music server 1 and 2.
in SB you can customize those pages to show "Indirect Text" from the ipod source (im using crestron P-IDOCV)

lemme know if you have any specific questions about getting the indirect text to show up.

im no pro, but i have that part working (for the most part)

So you aren't letting SB build any of your pages?

My understanding is that you are creating a GUI in VTPro, which you can save and reuse again and again. You take that GUI and assign join numbers then do all the programming in System Builder, similar to how you would with RTI. Is that correct?

You've figured out what you have to do in SB to pull the feedback data from the iPod dock so that you can do it with any GUI, correct?

What about for lighting and tstat? Do you build those pages yourself as well?

Thanks for the help. This is pretty much the path that I've been looking at. Would you say that you are programming your systems now pretty much the same way that you would have with RTI's ID?

Also, if you are doing it this way, do you lose the Dynamic Presets feature, or have you figured out how to do that also?
