Are the values for the variables like TV Power On, etc. stored permanently or do they default to false after I run a power off macro?

Said another way, when I go to turn my equipment on, can I assume that all the Power On variables are "false" so when I run a macro it will know to power on the unit? My processor does not have separate on/off switches so I have to keep track of its state.

I hope my question is clear and thanks for the help.

So I guess I should just create a macro which sets the values to false so at any time I can reset them to that?

Read the tech guide. It explains all you need to know.

Actually, I did, and I found it pretty poor when it came to this issue. I'll figure it out; this isn't rocket science.

You need to track your variables in your programming.

If Variable Power On is False
Turn TV On
Turn AVR On
Turn BluRay On
Set Power On Variable to True
Else
Switch AVR Input

Power Off TV
Power Off AVR
Power Off BluRay
Set Power On Variable to False

No problem. When you upload to the remote, all variables go back to their original state which is usually false.

The initial state (When the remote is rebooted) of the variable can be set in the variable dialog window.

There is a complete walk through of variables in the "Blogs" section of the new URC Control Room that I wrote for you. [Link: urccontrolroom.com]

I don't see how this can be done myself. Using the latest version of CCP.

You can only set initial values on the newer products and network products (the units that have Integer & String Variables).

My work around for the MX-980 was the create a "Welcome" page that basically said "Welcome to your Remote Control" - it would have a continue button that would set all my "initial variable values" and the jump to a new page. Then I would edit the "Watch" page (or whatever I set it to) to jump to the proper pages instead of the startup page.

If you're having continued difficulties getting the variables setup properly feel free to email me your CCP file and I'll be happy to take a look at it for you and make the needed adjustments. We could then review together the changes that had to be made to get it working the way that you want.

Thanks for the confirmation. There's not that many places to look within CCP and I simply didn't see a way to do what was mentioned per a feature built into the editor. Was just curious more than anything else. That being said, the workaround that you outline is the only way I could see doing this as well for the MX-980. Simple enough workaround for those that would like to set the initial state of a given variable themselves though for the MX-880 I just finished programming this wouldn't be possible obviously as the "Watch" and "Listen" buttons can't be programmed sad to say.
