RTI is just trying to fill a nitch. There are enough "installers" out there that actually prefer wizard based programming. I don't blame them, Both Logitech and Universal have wizard products that have done well. Smart of RTI to start a new brand rather than muddy the waters.

Prodigy is looking better and better every day. RTI's commitment to custom has started to become more of a joke then a company mantra. How about give us a battery that lasts longer then two years! Seriously I have a harmony 880 that's 6yrs old and sat in my van for a year without being charged and yet it's battery still works. It doesn't last as long but my kid doesn't wcare that it needs to be put back on the charger when he's done with it.

I wish they would come up with an RP1 lite that didn't hold macros and compete at the entry level position. Instead they appear to want to go mass market with remotes that are consumer grade but have more capabilities then their high-end pro grade remotes!

RTI please listen to our criticism and fix what ails you now before you lose the base you supposedly covet the most, the custom installer. We are passionate about the product and are honestly getting tired of the empty promises and growing reliability issues!!

Excessive, the CPB1= RP1 Lite. Yes RTI has QC issues, however I believe that they do listen to criticism and try to improve their product.

CPB1 does not equal RP1 Lite. It only works with in-wall controllers.

I understand RTI providing a low end solution. Hell, I want a really good low end solution. But it seems like their low end solution will have most of the capabilities that their current remotes have. These remotes will be two way capable so what benefit will we have over their pro "pro" line? In-walls? Not every job will have in-walls so now I will have to fight with customers over price because they will have a cheaper solution available to them.

My problem is that we have to deal with QC issues that haven't been resolved. I replaced two T2-C batteries and one bad T2-C last week for one customer. He wasn't too excited about RTI at that point. Others have reported many problems with zigbee. The lack of drivers over the past months have been very disappointing. Very disappointing.

If they focused on being the best remote control company they would gain enough market share over URC that they wouldn't need this pro control crap to keep going. Then they could add this divison later to expand. Instead they continue to dilute their resources making it more and more difficult to put out a good product. It would also help them release products in a timely fashion. That would be nice wouldn't it? I'm dying for the ST-7, iphone app, and virtual control panel and I'm sure they won't be available for a year or two. Be the best at something and not just mediocre at a lot of things. I could be guilty of this as well but at least I'm trying to change it.

They still make a great product but it's quickly losing it's value to me.

I'm dying for them to just deliver what they have on the website. Still no volume feedback on something as simple as the RKM1. Yet they have the resources to develop a new "cheaper" product line.

The difference is that the new Pro Control system is small and not expandable; so the traditional RTI still has a major advantage.

It s great that it is small and expandable, but what about the promises made to us years ago. At Cedia Expo, It was look for new two way drivers weekly, But it is 2 months and counting!

6.............yes 6 T2c's sitting at our shop right now that need to be replaced.  All less than 2 months old.

It doesn't take much in this industry for people to look for a different solution RTI...

Forgive me, as I'm not 100% up on every UEI product... but I just spent a few minutes looking at their site and didn't se anything that looked even similar to this new ProControl stuff... the only thing that comes to mind is WTF are you talking about?

The line seems analogous to Crestron's Prodigy, Elan's G!, etc. Higher end brands need to go down with price/complexity to fend off other offerings that are encroaching from below, and also to go out to the broader market.
If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.
