Ok so we all know that RTI insiders read posts that are made here. So can someone tell us more about this Pro Control that is showing up at CES?
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

I'm confused.

I always hear "we don't want to take away your URC business, we want your Crestron/AMX business."  To me that says that it's definitely not a low end remote option.  JMO

Maybe it's all just a mistake.  :)

They will be a lower cost version of their present line. Comng out mid year (2010). The line will have its own software similar to ID, but not compatible. It will still not be available to end users.

Great, they can't even finish the drivers we were promised a year ago for their Crestron priced product, and they have been spending time making something cheaper. Way to support the CI base RTI.

No, if luck has it they will get this garbage out right on schedule. Strange they call it "pro" controls - there is nothing "pro" about it.

It appears that the zigbee model going to support two way as well (at least by the security and weather icon on the remote).

This might be the straw that broke the camels back. RTI or mine!

FROM CEPRO:

Remote controls target custom installers and feature color OLED touchscreens, Windows-based programmability and ZigBee communication.

RTI is at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas under the name of its new division: Pro Remotes.

01.07.2010 — Pro Control, a newly created division of Remote Technologies Inc. (RTI), has unveiled a new line of remote control technology targeted for custom installers.

RTI made the announcement at CES 2010, quashing speculation that the entire company's name is changing to Pro Control.

The initial Pro Control lineup includes:

1. * PRO-24.z Remote—Features a color OLED touchscreen display capable of controlling components via 433-MHz RF or receiving feedback from devices such as A/V receivers, lighting systems, iPods and HVAC thermostats utilizing ZigBee technology.
2. * PRO-24.i Remote—It has a color touchscreen for one-way IR control at lower price point.

Both remotes use wizard-style Windows-based programming.

The central processors, dubbed include the PROLINK.4 and PROLINK.z, operate via 433-MHz RF communication to operate electronic systems reliably while the powerful PROLINK.z control processor enables two-way ZigBee communication and feedback with A/V receivers, iPods, lights, HVAC systems and more.

In addition to touting the ergonomic design, Mike Everett, general manager of Pro Control, says consumers “are looking for intuitive, professional-grade solutions that can be tailored to their specific needs.” He says the new remotes "meet these tough demands by providing powerful control over even the most complex systems — all at a great value."

Maybe they really need to make some money so they can finally put some money back into the product that's already available. I was so stoked with 2way was released and then its been a slow let down ever since. ZRP6 was way under built and needs new drivers, but we aren't even getting enough drivers for the XP8. Now they have an all new line for us to learn and sale.

WIZARD BASED PROGRAMMING!! AYFKM (are you f&*#Kng Kidding me!) Does anyone actually like wizard based programming. This looks like it may have GeekSquad secretly stamped on it.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head. Not that this is a bad thing, hopefully it will infuse them with more money for R&D on our side.

PRO-24.z Remote does BOTH 433 Mhz and Zigbee???? WTF??? Why couldn't they do that for the T2C, T3V, and K4? Get the reliability and range of 433 and the 2-way of Zigbee, that would be soo nice.
