My T3 sometimes will not wake up or it will go to a scrambled screen. Not sure if it is toast or if the file is corrupt. I reloaded it and no changes and tried a different battery. It seems to work sporadically

Any hard reset or any suggestions? If powered it ON and OFF from the back battery area. This does not always work.

Thanks!
Jeff

cracked motherboard battery connector, needs to be re-soldered, or the display board ribbon cable is loose

Looked at both... OK.

Something seams corrupt. Even without it moving or jostling around the screen will go blank.

IS there no way to reset it?

Send it.

Going through my records for the last year I have sent back 13 T3's in the last year alone.. Only 2 were from being dropped. Sadly I have 2 more out there I need to get back in...

I have sent back over 30 defective RTI product back in 2009. Anyone good at math to guesstimate our costs on that??

Sadly I found 2 more that need to come in for a total of 38 RTI products I have had to send back to RTI this year alone. Besides the cost of repair, I have the cost of s service trip to the site, then one back to the site to replace the device so even if it is warrantied it is still $250 in costs per remote. That comes out to almost 10k in lost labor last year alone...

I have one RMA which has 4 T3's on it, a couple with 2 T3's on the RMA so there is costs in keeping extra units on hand so our clients are not as screwed as we are for this debacle.

You can call me on why I am looking forward to Prodigy, but this is a lot of dough that many smaller companies could not absorb. So be careful...

That is a lot!.. What percent of defect vs sold for 09 is that? Any ideas if it could be a geographic condition that may be causing it? Humidity? Salt air?
I'll let you know tomorrow..

I have sent a copy of every RMA that I have received from RTI back to them this year to see how far this goes up the chain. I love the product, but raise your hands if you can afford over 10k in lost labor a year plus all the other expense associated with defective product. We are looking at close to 20k when all said and done, I can think of better ways to spend 20k. Can you??

This was a tough year and this debacle just makes me sick to my stomach!! I have not done a comparison to last year yet. It was not nearly as bad, but many of the T3's we sold last year were part of this. How do you explain to a client you sold a house full of T3's and most of them went bad that you sell a quality product??

Sorry, I don't get why you are having all of these problems. I have not seen a bad T3 or T3V since I began selling RTI in 07. I have only sent back 1 t2+ and a few minor glitches on some T2Cs' and that has not happened again in some time

I have had to return virtually every RTI unit we've installed. only a few have made it longer than 18 months. Luckily its not our go-to product. URC has been very reliable. hundreds in the field with less then 10% replacement rate and very few outright failures. mostly drops and excesive use.
