I have a K3 I'm installing later this week. I'm torn on using pages from the page wizard for XM channel favorites or a scrolling list. Here's my thought process.

Genre pages

- Easier to catagorize.
- Can have pages for different users
- Smaller icons

Scrolling List

- Larger icons
- More info about the channel
- Has to be either alphabetical or numerical listing

I'm leaning towards the scrolling list for more info and larger icon to press. Thoughts?

I like scrolling lists. I think they are easier to navigate and the channel macro wizard makes them so easy to program.

oex, I have some scrolling list examples Im sending your way

you dont have to use the icons, you can use a single line of text or two lines of text

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

I've found my customers like the scrolling lists better than a bunch of pages with buttons. The scrolling list adds a "Cool Factor" that customers really appreciate. With sources such as XM, you may consider breaking down the list into sections, or favorites for different users (eg. page 1=all channels, page 2=his favories, page 3=her favorites...)

Did 3 collections of channels - per the client.

All done with scrolling lists.

worked very well.

I'd post the file if anyone was interested.

I'd check it out.

I already have genre pages templated but i would love to see how others are doing this.

I currently use 12 faves per page. I have four two level buttons below the fave icons (Faves-HD, NetworksA-B, MoviesA-B, Sports-News). each buton will jump to it's page with a scroll in from the left of right depending on their relative position and diplay highlighted. The currently selected button will then display text for it's second tier. When the second tier is selected the button is highlighted with a lighter color than the first tier. It is very easy to adapt from a template given that most customers will usually only ask for changes to the initial faves and music channel pages.

I'd like to see the file. If you could email it to me or download it on IP, I'd appreciate it.
