all have ever used to control the players is 232 so that is what i am referencing

the discreet on code worked and the discreet code off did not on the xa1.
the discreet on code does not work and the discreet code off does on the xa2.

if you had to choose one of the two, having the discreet off is actually better. play makes a fine discreet on.

i did run in to something strange today though. i have read posts were people have swapped out xa1 to xa2 with no change to serial dat except for the on/off differences. i even confirmed with femi that he kept bps to 9600 w/ no changes. i put two in today and spent well over an hour trying to figure out wtf was going on i decided to try different baud rate of 19,200 and walla. femi is installing new one tomorrow as well and will either confirm or debunk this info. maybe newer models have different firmware? just thought this might save someone some time, if anybody else is still using hddvd. i wish toshiba made this player for blu ray. best player out not as many good movies.
I love supporting product that supports me!

Jeff,

could you please send me the codes for the XA2? I was still not successful in learning these codes with iRed/IRTrans.

I need (if they exist) discrete power codes for the HD-A2. Sorting through all these threads, it looks like they all deal with the XA2 or A1. Can anyone confirm if any of these work on the A2?

Thanks
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

I am another one who found a bargain, out of box, HD-2A but with no remote. No luck so far with either Philips universal remote or Comcast DVR remote in reading IR. Would deeply appreciate a remote code for the HD-2A. Thanks... and great forum.
