I think the outcome to all this is that RTI will stop ALL Internet sales. Like Bill E. said, the RTI’s main focus is custom installers and the product itself is obviously not made to be programmed by end-users (hope I don’t offend anyone). You do not see AMX, Panja, Crestron or the Niles Intellicontrol for sell on the Internet.
The one authorized RTI Internet dealer supplies product to the very small portion of the population that has any kind of clue on how sophisticated of a remote the T2 really is. If other sites start selling the remote to people that do not have a FULL grasp of the possibilities, these people will be unhappy with the product, the site that sold them the product and that is bad for the manufacturer.
Putting a product, any product in the wrong hands is bad for everyone involved and by having a web site sell a product just for the sake of saying they are selling it cheaper is even worse.
Just my 2 cents but if someone is buying a product from a web site just because they are cheaper and fully realizing that they are not authorized dealers, don’t get mad at anyone but yourself if there in no customer support via the dealer because they have disappeared one day or the manufacturer won’t help because you bought their product in a back alley.
