A question about the 2nd R15 remote codes. The primary
code is enabled in other remotes or devices by using the
Sat 1377 code. What is the code (or whatever) to activate
or enable the secondary (AV1) code in a remote (so the
remote would work with an R15 set to the AV1 secondary
code)?

The specific remote I am attempting to use is the one
built into the Slingbox.

Thanks,

Carl

The UEI remote code for AV1 codeset is sat 1378. I have no idea if its in the slingbox? The only UEI remote with it preset is the ofa urc-6960.

That did the trick, THANKS!.

Slingbox was smart enough to use the DirecTV remote graphic when I entered the 1378 code.

You abandon the oem remotes and get yourself a universal
like the mx850, 650, or 350. In combination with the
addressable RF basestations, the MRf250 or 300, you can
control them separately.

This was the exact solution I was looking for too, thanks!

I have to control 6 r15s with one remote, so I think I'm going with the mx-850 and the mrf300 combo...

Are there any gotcha's, I should be aware of? additional antenna, cabling...

I have almost the same problem that you had but your solution did not work. I have two HR20-700s (DirecTV HD DVRs) and they are in the same room so I need to be able to set up the remotes with different codes so 1 remote controls only 1 of the DVRs and the other remote controls the other DVR. Step two of the proceedure above does not work for my remote (an RC64R).

Could someone please give me a proceedure that works for the RC64R remote?

Edmund,

I have a question. I have a Viewsonic N3250w television in my exercise room. I did not know at the time of purchase that they have their own proprietary remote system. So right now I have the Directv HDTV box (no DVR capability) and I use the RF capability to change channels since the box is in another room. But to turn on the television power and increase and decrease the volume, I have to keep the TV remote available.

1. Do you know any codes that might work in the Directv remote that will literally just Power ON and increase/ decrease the volume for the Viewsonic TV?

2. Do you know a trick where I can get the Directv Remote to IR Learn the buttons for a) Power On b) Volume Up c) Volume Down? These are literally all I need and then I can get rid of the TV remote.

Thanks for your help.

The newest directv remote, the rc64, lists 10 viewsonic tv codes. You can buy the RF version the rc64rb from directv for $25.

sorry, no current directv remote has learning feature.

Edmund,

Thanks for your help. I found out the latest Directv HD DVR Receiver I purchased about a month ago (August 15th, 2007), came with about 4 other Viewsonic codes. To try it out, what do I do to get this new Directv remote to connect with the Directv HD Receiver in my exercise room that was installed last year?

If the receiver is set to IR, and if its a H20, then use codes 00001 or 00002.

1. dtv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 0 0 0 0 1 or 0 0 0 0 2

If the receiver is set to RF:

1. dtv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 0 0 0 0 1

4. dtv
5. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
6. enter 9 6 1
7. press CH UP
8. enter the last 6 digits of the receiver ID #, found on a sticker in the access card compartment
9. press SELECT

I'm trying to program my MX-850 for my new Direct TV subscription, but there is no code for my model HR21-700. Any recommendations? {THis is tryingto program by Device: TV, IR Data from: SAT. I also tried Device:TV, IR Data from: DVR}

Use SAT code 173. Which is the same as code 00001 on the white remotes.
