Is there a way to program 00002 into the remote RC32 with an HR21 HDDVR or do I have to use AV1 or AV2. I have an IR system in the house and the new HDDVR conflicts with one in the family room.

Well code 00002 is already in the rc32. But the alternate codeset for the HR21 isn't 00002, its 00003.

To switch the HR21 to the alternate IR code, first program code 00003 to av1 or av2 on the remote:

1. av1 or av2
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 0 0 0 0 3

Now slide back to directv device on the remote and enter the menu of HR21:

1. menu> settings> setup> remote> receiver mode>

2. you will see either DIRECTV or AV1/AV2, click whichever to reveal both

3. pick AV1/AV2, the remote will stop controlling the receiver, slide to av1 or av2 whichever has code 00003

4. press DONE and exit the menu

Since you're the "greatest" on here, maybe you can help me. I know this is an old post, but I need any help I can get.

DirectTV Receiver
Phillips HTS3400/37 Home Theater/Surround
JVC TV
RC64 remote from DTV

None of the codes work with the Phillips except to turn it off (they won't turn it back on, operate the DVD player functions, or most importantly the volume/mute functions). I've searched various forums and tried all their codes. Phillips' website says they don't have codes and referred me to this site.

I"m not at home now, but can write back with the specifics/model of my DTV Rec. and JVC TV if that would help.
