My thanks to all...

Back in March, I posted a plea for help as I couldn't get the 15-1994 to operate my Harman CD recorder.

Various people offered assistance. I put postings on other sites to no avail.

Well I continued looking here and noticed postings by "Rob". After contacting him directly the end result was he examined my remote and determined that the code was in the Harman Amp section.

While I thanked Rob for his invaluable assistance via email, I had to let everyone know what he did for me and my gratitude.

Here's what I have had to do to get my 1994 to control my Sherwood Receiver:
I learned the power button to the s1 button, but to make that button work I have to hit the Aux1 button!

Can I then move that S1 button ove to the main power button so that I can turn off the receiver while in the Aux1 mode?

Hey Chris:
You flipped us to a new page! Do you win a million bucks or anything for that???

To other Rob:
I think you may have missed that you can learn functions to almost any button on the remote, so if you want the AUX1/POWER button to be the power button for your Sherwood, simply learn it there. Have you printed out a copy of the manual from my site?

Hey just went out and got the 15-1994 and it is great, only one problem. I have a Luxman R-361 amp/rec and there is no code. Tried the 0165 seen on one of the sites. Does anyone have info that could help.
Thanks Danny

Rob you are a genius. I purchased the 15-1994 here in Canada last week, with all the support of you and this forum I figured "How can I go wrong". After a brief (extremely brief) read of the RS Manual I logged on and printed off your manual. This thing ROCKS! I have it running the following:
Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 Digital Cable Box
Toshiba VCR
Toshiba 2109 DVD Player
Yamaha CDC-575 CD Player
Yamaha RX-795a Recever
Toshiba TV

Plus I get to tinker, combining functions to make things simpler to use (a definite bonus with the Misses). I use the Smart Keys for that. 1 -> Powers up the most used TV, Rec, Cable, switches the Rec to TV. 2 -> Switches to DVD mode for watching movies from 1 (switches Rec to DVD, Switched TV to Vid 1 (S-video)). 3 -> Returns to TV mode from 2, and 4
->switches to VCR mode from 1.

I owe you a beer!

PS Excellent discovery Andre! (I owe you one too!)

as you can see from this thread, many people were involved in discovering the secrets of the 15-1994 before I came aboard, all I did was try and put all the info in one place.

Did you see the bit about how you use the 'Plug & Power' button if you want to control 7 devices? In your case, you could put your CD player on the P&P button and then put your receiver on the CD button, thus freeing up an AUX key for something else.

I had browsed by it, and I may print it out for future reference. Fortunately at this point I have only 6 devices which I need to control. I could use it for the TV in the bedroom, but I don't like the idea of hunting down the remote throughtout our entire apartment.

I just purchased a 15-1994 last night. I found codes for all my equipment except my receiver. Has anyone found codes for a Nakamichi 1A-1z. I guess I can learn some if i have to. I just wanted to save the memory for some other keys.-thanks. David

Just bought my 15-1994. I got almost everything working
except my Dishplayer 7100. I've tried loadind all the advanced codes that I found on sites for these remotes
(15-1994 and Cimema 7). But to no avail. Has anyone had any success?

The Dishplayer uses code 1005 which is NOT loaded in the 15-1994, so you'll have to use learning for that one I'm afraid.

If Radio Shack would agree to start an upgrade campaign you could easily have the code added to your remote. You could add to those calling for them to start one by filling out the following form...

[Link: stormloader.com]

You other choices would be to get a Producer 8 remote and send it in to have the code added, or get an older Radio Shack remote if you can find one (like, the 15-1925, 1919, 1918 and 1917) that has an internal modem, that way you can have the code added over the phone. You can sometimes still find the 15-1925 in stores but it has been discontinued, and some of the others will show up on eBay from time to time.

In a response to Christian Green you mention using the Plug&Power button as a Device Key to make the remote an 8 in One. Could you point me to where this info is. I've tried to use the P&P button as a device key and didn't have any luck.
Thanks for the great thread!

Tom,
If you go back to the previous page of this thread (ie, page 9) and search for the posts I made on 6/15/00 and 6/17/00 you will see the info. At some point I will also add it to my main web site.

Basically, the P&P button is really a CD button, but it cannot be re-assigned to anything else. So, one method would be to use it for your CD player and use the CD button for something else (your receiver, perhaps). The other method is for when you have to completely program a device using advanced codes (like the Apex DVD player) or when you have to use learning for all the functions when the remote doesn't have a device code for you. In these cases, you might as well put the device in question on the P&P button.

Looking for info on how to program the 15-1994 remote for the following devices -

VCR Panasonic PV9664 - how can I access the program features to set it to record while I'm gone?

CD Player Denon DCM340 - how do I change the display to show the time elapsed, disc time remaining, ect?

Any info greatly appreciated, thanks all!

What device code are you using for the Panasonic VCR? Is it one of these: 0162, 1062, 1162 or 1262? These are all basically the same code with different button layouts. I use 1162 and the PROGRAM function is on the PROGRAM button.

First off, try the other codes and see if you can find one that is mapped better than the one you are using. Either way, there are advanced codes on my site, so you can simply program the button yourself.
