I have been using my TS1000 since they first came out. I'm thinking of upgrading to the TSU3000. Will I be able to convert and upload my currently used ts1000's ccf to the tsu3000?

Wheelie,

I converted my 1000 ccf with no problems. However, with the better screen and the 16 shades of grey, in the 3000, you can build or find some much better buttons and backgrounds. What many have done is import it then kill all of the devices screens, leaving all of the IR Codes and rebuiliding the rest. If you are not that fussy, then import and look at it for some minor improvements.

Thanks for the info. I installed PENG today for the heck of it just to check it out. I was able to import my old 1000 ccf and saved it as a 3000 pcf with no problem.

That sounds interesting. How do you kill all the device screens and leave the codes?

Most people don't have remote codes directly associated with the screens. They have a different hidden screen (or device) that contains all of the codes and then link all of the on screen buttons to the commands on that page. That way, you only have to save each IR command once and are able to use it from many places.

This methodology makes it much easier to redesign screens, and uses less memory.
