Most people don't have remote codes directly associated with the screens. They have a different hidden screen (or device) that contains all of the codes and then link all of the on screen buttons to the commands on that page. That way, you only have to save each IR command once and are able to use it from many places.

This methodology makes it much easier to redesign screens, and uses less memory.
