I've successfully downloaded (from XP to 3000) several times without a glitch to try various authors' confgs.

Now I've set up IR templates, downloaded them to 3000 and learned all necessary IR signals in the remote, but I can't get it to upload back to XP. When I click upload, I get an upload animation on XP, 3000 comes on briefly for about ten secs (then off), then after a few minutes, I get an "upload has failed" error message. Never see any status bars indicating that info is being transferred (like I do on download).

-UPDATE- Now I seem to get one single status bar after a few seconds, then the 3000 power itself up, gives the Pronto animation, powers down after a few more seconds, then a few minutes later I get the Upload Fail message.

Update #2 - I opened Archer's Blizzard file, successfully downloaded to 3000, but was unable to upload back to PC, so it does not appear to be a corrupted file issue.

Just a thought, the batteries have been causing a lot of problems. Have you tried a fresh set. I was have macros that were rebooting the system untill I replaced the baterries.

I'm using the original bats which "show" enough power, but I'll try to swap out and see what happens. In the mean time, I figured out that you can "learn" the IR codes directly into PENG using the 3000 and USB connection, which seems easier to me anyway. Other than IR codes, is there anything I would ever need to "upload" from the 3000. Seems like the direct learning is faster and saves batteries, and my design work will always be done on the PC. Any thoughts?

On the 2000 the IR learning from the PC was very bad, but I've had reports here that it works very well.

You'll just have to try a few "learns" and see how they work

This is an actual bug. It would be nice to know what machines have been having this problem. My Toshiba Satellite laptop certainly displays it.

BTW, learning codes with PENG works just fine, unlike PE.

A new set of batteries did NOT solve this problem. Operating with Windows XP-Home on a Sony PC. I also downloaded the default PCF, and was still unable to upload (seems like someone said to try this in another thread).

I am using a compaq presario 900Z laptop with 512 M ram running XP home. Uploading is very unreliable. To learn codes into my 3000, I just download a single device. I then Immediately upload it, If that works I then learn the codes into the 3000 and sometimes it will upload OK again... Other times a lot of wasted effort. I think it works more times if I upload to a new empty PENG document... then again its hit and miss. I finally just learn the codes into PENG.

Once again: learning using PENG works great. There is no need to use the remote to learn the codes and then upload the modified PCF into PENG. I've learned dozens of codes using PENG and have not had a single problem.

I use a Sony Vaio desktop with XP Pro, and have no problems uploading or downloading.
