I am trying to get into the Addr mode of my Toshiba 57H81, websites say get a One-For-All Cinema 7 and program it for Toshiba then push the Setup button. Since I have a Pronto surely I can do the same, any ideas how?

The "Setup" key on the Cinema 7 is used to start an internal operation within the remote (by itself, it doesn't send any command to the TV). So I'm sure those instructions said to press that Setup key and then key in a 3-digit EFC number. That causes the Cinema 7 to send a command.

There is a list of the EFC numbers for Toshiba TV's here:
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

The Toshiba remote has a Setup key also, which is EFC number 231. But that probably isn't involved in what you want to do.

According to that web page there is an "ADDR Data" command, which is EFC 041. That's probably what you're looking for.

Toshiba TV's are pretty common, so you probably can find the commands you want already converted to Pronto Hex in some thread or CCF here at RC.

If you really want to get the Pronto Hex from the Cinema7 EFC numbers, you must first convert the EFC number to an OBC number (several different free programs in the JP1 group can do that), then generate the Pronto Hex using the MakeHex program.

There are at least 6 Toshiba TV CCF files here at RC which include Pronto Hex for EFC number 041. The ones I've looked at it all name that signal either "Green" or "G". That seems a strange name if "ADDR Data" is what I think it is. One such CCF file is

Maybe you can find what you want there.

I am afraid your post is above my head. What is JP1?
Could you spell out what I should do a little more basically?
Thanks
Mike

I was editing my first reply while you were answering it, so reread it.

I didn't really expect the JP1 references to be understandable. I think finding the Pronto Hex you need here at RC will be easier than deriving it from the JP1 software. I just wanted to outline the JP1 approach as a fall back. You could find all of it explained in many threads here at RC if you do various searches on the right keywords.

You probably should check with the source from which you got the original Cinema7 based instructions to make sure you at least know which 3-digit EFC numbers you're trying to duplicate.

Actually it is 014 not 041, does that change anything for you.
Yes to get to Addr mode it says to set up a macro for setup then 014.

Yes. It changes it to the answer Jon posted. I double checked the EFC list when I saw that 041 was "green" and I misread 014 as 041 the second time same as the first. It certainly is 014.

EFC 014 is OBC 254 (as Jon has above). Toshiba TV is NEC1 protocol, device 64 (as Jon has above).
