Hello I`m looking for the discrete codes for my european sony kv-28wx2d .For the input selectors ... The ones I found in the file section of this site work but there are some missing like the ones for the super video inputs and the tuner input code doesn`t work ...
Mayby someone has a working ccf for me .......

Thankx Ronald

Have checked the CCF on file for your TV and have confirmed the codes to be Sony 5 bit.

The discretes listed are apparently correct for Sony 5 bit, so they should work. Why they don't I cannot answer.

Wel for the 1 to 3 inputs they work fine but input 2 also can be used for super video so I`m looking for the code to turn the tv straight to the super video input .......

Well, I'm not positive regarding the Tv's on the other side of the pond, but over here best source takes Priority on a SOny TV Input.

Basically means we cannon use the Composite input if a S-Video input is present on "Input 1"

Input 1 needs to be composite, Input 2 need to be "S-Video
and so on and so forth.

I've been trying to track down this model, but am finding it a little elusive. Is it a CRT model and are we talking the wonderful world of SCART?

If the answers are yes I would imagine the connections to be something like;

AV1 - RGB/S-Video (Scart on rear)
AV2 - RGB/S-Video (Scart on rear)
AV3 - S-Video/Composite (Scart on rear / S-Video and Phono connectors on front)

If this is the case the input would automatically use whatever the output device is sending; i.e. whilst there may be codes to select a specific AV input, it's more than likely there are no codes to select the type. But then you say the AV2 code does exactly this.

Must confess, I'm puzzled; which is why some info on the TV would be of help.

PS
As a footnote to the above. I've checked the tuner and AV (Video) codes 1-6 and found them to correspond with the info I have. AV (Video) code 7, however, is something of an oddball.

My info gives it as an 8 bit code for widescreen switching. Just wondering if anyone can confirm this.

I've heard of Sony TVs where you can access the composite and S-Video portion of one input individually. However, there are NO discrete codes for the S-Video portion (try a macro of the discrete code + normal input).

Just for you I've burnt the midnight oil and created a CCF with all 128 Sony 5 bit TV codes. Just need an email address to send it to.

This is the most authoritative site for Sony commands. It has the European codes highlighted for the TV's. There is also an explanation on how to use MakeHex to generate the Pronto hex for any of these commands [Link: hifi-remote.com]

. . . and after slaving away; by the light and heat of my single candle; in my rat infested and wind swept garret; surviving on little more than stale crusts, gruel and rainwater . . . he never got back to me.

Oh well . . .

PS
I prefer IR Tool myself.

Compelling prose. I think that could explain the "slaving away" part... I'm not entirely sure that you actually did that, but...

In IRTool (assuming you had already decoded a Sony device 1 command) don't you have to:

1. Hand enter the command number,
2. Copy the encoding,
3. Create a button in PE
4. Do some mouse clicks, paste into the IR window, and click a few more close boxes,
5. Remember to increment (or decrement) the command and go back to 1. -- 127 more times?

In MakeHex you:

1. Edit Sony12.irp change device=1 and Function=0..127 and save,
2. Drag and drop Sony12.irp onto MakeHex.exe,
3. Open Sony12.hex in notepad, make sure word wrap is off and copy the text,
4. Open IRPanels paste the text, hit Generate CCF File, and
5. Retrieve your ccf file from C:\Program Files\IRPanels

Maybe it will keep you away from the rats longer ...

You don't believe me?

In IRTool (assuming you had already decoded a
Sony device 1 command) don't you have to:

Yep, downloaded the sole CCF for a Sony kv-28wx2d and checked the codes.

In MakeHex you:

1. Edit Sony12.irp change device=1 and Function=0..127 and save,

Yep!

2. Drag and drop Sony12.irp onto MakeHex.exe,

Yep, yep!

3. Open Sony12.hex in notepad, make sure word
wrap is off and copy the text,

Yep, yep, yep!

4. Open IRPanels paste the text, hit Generate
CCF File, and

Clunk!

5. Retrieve your ccf file from C:\Program Files\IRPanels

Fine in principal, but it presupposes I had a copy of IRPanels to hand. Alas, I didn't.

Maybe it will keep you away from the rats longer
...

No chance of that. They're gnawing away at my frost bitten toes as I write.
