I am currently using my remote with a Dish 300 and 500 series box. For some reason the box doesn't recognize the commands every time. Every other devices responds the first time, but with t he dish receivers it seems that sometimes I have to push the button more than once for the receiver to recognize it. Any else had this or know of a fix?

Thanks in advance.

Dish recievers are notorious for having problems with control because of IR over-saturation and RF interference. Are you using an MRF-300 (or 250)? If so, you may need to try moving it away from the sat reciever. Use the IR level attenuators on the MRF to lower the intensity level of the IR emitter. If that doesn't work, I find that placing the emitter to the side of the IR reciever window on the sat reciever will thin out the IR blast enough to work smoothly. Also try placing the emitter on the shelf in front of the sat box. Play with position of the emitter until you get it right- it can be a pain in the ass!
Also uncheck the "REPEAT WHILE BUTTON IS PRESSED" box in the IR Data box of the editor software to prevent duplicate commands.

Good luck!

Are you using an RF base station (ie: MRF-250 or 300) with the Dish receiver, or does this happen with direct IR?

Set the remote to IR only and see if it works (standing in front of the equipment). If so, it's your emitter placement or RFI.

I am using it with IR direct. No RF units involved. The dish box is located with the rest of my components?

It sounds like a problem I had with a dish D10-150 receiver a while back. I had one thrown into a system by a client and I could not get the thing to respond to IR or RF. It sounds like the same deal.. when you get into the menu or guide, does it sometimes skip several times while pushing the up or down button once? Are the numeric buttons not responding reliably? I tried every trick I know of and even spent time with URC tech support, but we could not come up with a solution short of getting a different sat receiver. It seems that something about the way the remote learns the codes from this particular brand of unit. I don't really have any helpful advise from this point on...Sorry :(
Good luck, hope someone else can better help!
