I'm having a problem effectively controlling a NAD T514 DVD player with an MX-850/MRF-250 setup. There are three systems throughout the house, each of which is experiencing the same problem. When I programmed the systems initially, I controlled everything through line of sight IR. Preprogrammed codes for the NAD worked perfectly as well as all other devices. When I convert the routing to RF, the NAD is the only device that I'm having trouble with. I tried learning the codes from the donor remotes, did not help. Checked the MRF-250 for interference, not detecting any. Status light is flashing when buttons are pressed on the DVD pages, but control is intermittent at best. Finally, while moving the emitter around the front window of the NAD, I found that if the emitter eye is spaced about 1" in front of the IR receiver the codes work again. I need to fix this ASAP as my customer is unhappy, I look like an amatuer, and most important I can't collect my final payment. Please help.

i know this is probably a little bit too simple but have you checked under RF control and verify that its set to rf only and that its set to the right base station? also i have had a similar problem once and i had it set to output to all flashers....but once i set to output ONLY to flasher on device then the problem was resolved.... Hope this helps...P.S... MAKE THAT MONEY (^_^)

Verified base station ID and RF settings. I've tried both individual output routing as well as all output routing, same result.

Think about what you said - the IR line of sight worked fine. Go back and reload those codes. You don't have a code problem, you have an emitter placement problem.

Some move the emitter 1" away from the IR window; some put electrical tape with a pinhole over the IR window then mount the emitter; some use a paper clip as a mount to stick it 1" away from the front of the window....see this thread for another solution:

Make sure the blaster is off and the device is set for RF only, not RF/IR; make sure that when you are controlling that device the emitter is the only one firing.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
