That it is where I started, It helped with all
the other, but the component discrete code 5 or
6 still do not work. Any other ideas?

I have the same problem with my TV, a Silver Series 4:3 screen, VS-50607.

I did get around the problem though, by making a macro go to input 3, then input +, effectively switching to the component input. Not ideal, but hey, it works great :)

Okay I'm new to this forum and a new owner of the MX-500.

This thread answers most of my questions, except how to program the input switching to the MX-500.

I was able to use the code above to convert the Mitsubishi remote to dicrete mode, but am unsure where or how to place them in the MX-500.

Could someone clarify?

Thanks in advance,
Aristides

Relabel some of the LCD-labeled buttons for your TV device on the MX-500 as necessary and learn the commands to them from your Mits remote.

Thanks, I relabled buttons to accomplish half of the equation. I used the procedure above to convert the tv remote but the input switching does not work.

I have the WS-55311 and the input switching button is a up/down button, like the volume and channel switching buttons. Pressing input then one of the buttons above to program the Mx-500 has yet to work for me.

What if anything am I doing wrong?

I'm so close to having this thing programmed,

Thanks again,
Aristides

Does the input switching work with the Mits remote? If, when in discrete mode, you push Input Up followed by "1", does the Input change to Input 1? If so, then learn that command to the MX-500 by going into learning mode, then press the Input Up button while facing the Mits remote away from the MX-500. Then, quickly line them up and press the "1" button (or whatever one you want) to learn to the MX-500. Hope that helps.

Excellent! that did the trick, well at least 90%. For those with toggle input buttons on their Mitsu remotes, use the technique described in the post above.

The only input I'm having problems with is the Ant-A and subsequently Ant-B. The pip up/dn button does not work in discrete mode as listed in the previous posts. As a matter of fact I can find no button that toggles the Ant-A input on. to me it isn't important as I never watch 'regular' tv...Directv and DVD's only...with an occasional VHS tape.

anyway, thanks for getting me over that hurdle, I'm enjoying the macros and now only use one remote!

Thanks again,
Aristides

This sounds so simple, yet it is not working for me. The discretes work fine with my Mitsu remote. However, when I try to have the MX500 learn the keys, it does not see the button being pressed. When in the default mode (Power then 000), it sees all the buttons just fine. I tried pressing the device up button while pointing away from my MX500, then pressing 5 while pointing at the MX500 and it just sat there waiting for a key to be pressed. I have a Mitsubishi 55859 TV. I called Mitsubishi and they are unable/unwilling to help. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Your MX-500 should be able to learn those commands without a problem. You may be letting too much time elapse between button pushes. First, make sure you have new or nearly new batteries in both remotes. When in programming mode, with the two remotes lined up head-to-head, a few inches apart, place your hand over the top of the Mits renote to block the IR. Then, go into learning mode, push the button on the MX-500 that you want to learn to, push the Device or Input Up button on the MIts remote. Immediately remove your hand and push the second button on the Mits remote (just a quick push, don't hold the button down). The MX-500 should be able to learn that command.

You can also vary the distance between the remotes and make sure there's not a lot of fluorescent light in the room while learning.

Has anyone done this with a Mits WD-52725?

Would you be willing to share your file for a MX-800 remote?

I can tell you that I have the Mits 62725 and two weeks ago used the process that Mike outlines above and it works perfectly. For example now my wife can hit the button labled "Movie" and the Denon DVD5900 tray opens; the Denon receiver switches to DVD in; and most importantly the Mits input switches directly to DVI.

I also have setup the other Mits input discretes in other macros (and the "on/off" too). Mike was a life saver. Thanks.

Would you be willing to upload your MX-800 file to the forum?

Or send it to me?

Thanks

Thanks for the helpful info. I followed your instructions and solved the problem. One more question: My high definition satelite receiver, a Samsung SIRTS360, does not have discreet on/off functions on the remote, just the conventional power button. Do you know how I would be able to find out if there are discreet functions available for this equipment? it is the one missing piece in the puzzle for making all my macros work glitch-free.
