Hi,

I just wanted to let you know, that it is possible to add as many pronto hex codes to your profile yourself as possible! Just use libconcord/concordance/congruity under Linux (tried and working perfectly) or Windows (should work, as congruity is python and concordance/libconcord should compile under Windows too). You can find the software here: [Link: phildev.net] . To enter pronto codes to your profile just learn the commands you wand to change and in the congruity window choose "Insert Pronto Hex code" (or so...). By pressing the "Analyse" button the code will be analyzed and the waveform is displayed. After that you can continue and the code is added to your profile.

I also modified the concordance commandline tool to read pronto codes from a file in order to learn many codes in a very short time. So if you have already all the names inside a device profile you just have to "Select All" and "Learn selected commands" and the rest works automatically. If somebody is interested in the source files (verry dirty hack, but it works), just send me a pm or email.

Cheers

By changing the POST form when learning new keys it is also possible to fill an empty device profile with pronto codes and it takes only 1 to 3 seconds per code! I think I will write a more detailed howto and post the address here.

I compiled a version for windows which you can find here: [Link: freenet-homepage.de] . As it is very beta I will not be responsible for any consquences using this piece of software. So please use it only for learning keys!

Hi, I tested the windows version and it works! Here are some test samples. Just put the the text into two different files: Pronto_Hex.txt and Pronto_Learn.txt.

Pronto_Hex.txt:
ctrl_shift_key_f1    0000 0049 0010 0000 000A 0017 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 0015 0017 0015 0017 0015 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 0017 000A 0A69
ctrl_shift_key_f10   0000 0049 000F 0000 000A 0017 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 0015 0017 0015 0017 0015 000B 000A 000B 000A 0017 0015 0017 000A 0A69
ctrl_shift_key_f2    0000 0049 0010 0000 000A 0017 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 0015 0017 0015 000B 000A 0017 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 0015 0A74
ctrl_shift_key_f3    0000 0049 0010 0000 000A 0017 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 0015 0017 0015 000B 000A 0017 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 0015 0017 000A 0A69
ctrl_shift_key_f4    0000 0049 000F 0000 000A 0017 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 000A 000B 0015 0017 0015 000B 000A 0017 000A 000B 000A 000B 0015 0017 0015 0A74

Pronto_Learn.txt:
OtherCommand=ctrl_shift_key_f1
OtherCommand=ctrl_shift_key_f10
OtherCommand=ctrl_shift_key_f2
OtherCommand=ctrl_shift_key_f3
OtherCommand=ctrl_shift_key_f4
WebProcessAction%3AMultiDigitize_=Learn+New+Command

Now install "Tamper data" from [Link: addons.mozilla.org] and change preferences: uncheck the second check box (something like that  adding replaces existing). Go to members.harmonyremote.com with firefox and to the page where you can select commands to learn for a certain device (More options - Learn infrared commands). Start "Tamper Data" and click "Start Tamper". Click to "Learn New Commands". A Window will apper with a checkbox asking you what to do with the request. Uncheck the checkbox and select tamper. In the following window you can see on the right side the POSTDATA fields. Delete the last entry (...Learn+New+Command) with right mouse click and "Delete..." and insert new elements from file (right mouse click). Select the Pronto_Learn.txt file and new elements will appear. The last element is the "WebProcessAction...". Select Ok and the request is sent to the webpage. Now a window should open with the LearnIR.EZTut file asking wether to open it or to save. Save the file to the same directory where concordance.exe and the textfiles are stored. Open a command window and cd to this directory. Type in the command:
concordance -l LearnIR.EZTut -pPronto_Hex.txt

Now concordance should read the codes from the files and upload them to the website. Last output line should be "Success!" and the website should go automatically to the learn commands overview showing your newly "learned" codes!

Cheers

There is a new version for Windows available ([Link: freenet-homepage.de]), that does not need a remote to be connected to the computer in order to learn new infrared commands from a Pronto Hex Code. If no remote is detected the only function is to learn from a single hex code of from a file with hex codes as described above.

So it is (probably, as I can not test it) possible to learn Pronto codes for remotes that are not supported by the libconcord library.

Cheers

Hi,

does anybody use this software???? Any feedback would be appreciated especially with which remote you have tested it. If it works properly I would suggest to put the functionality into the official code tree of concordance.

Hi HellG. I've downloaded the links for the Win version but have no clue to use it. I've only gotten as far as unzipping it. Any chance you could do up a step by step for the following:
The remote is a Harmony 659.
The device is a Panasonic plasma TH-42PV60A
The code is:
HDMI 2 is 128.4, function 177
0000 0071 0000 0032 007F 0040 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0AAB
(I got this code from searching on this forum)
The software I use: Logitech Harmony Remote Software 7.6.0

I want to use this code to control my plasma to switch to HDMI 2. Am I even on the right track?!

Thanks
Ben

Hi Ben,
you are on the right way: As I said above: you need Firefox and if you only want to add one hex code, that's it. Logon to members.harmonyremote.com and go the the "Learn infrared..." of the specific device (TH-42PV60A). On the bottom of the page you can input a new command to learn (where it says "MyNewCommand"). Type in a name like "HDMI2" and press "Learn New Command". Now Firefox prompts you wether to open the file or to download it. Download the file to the same directory where you unzipped the concordance zip file. Open a command shell and navigate to that directory. Type in "concordance.exe -l LearnIr.EZTut". Wait a few seconds until you can choose wether to [L]earn new commands or to input Pronto [H]ex codes. Type "H" and copy the code above. Paste the code into the command window and press enter (right click in the command window and "Paste"). When it sucessfully reads the code concordance offers you to [U]pload the code. Press u and q to quit. The webpage should now change back to the learn page showing your new command at the bottom.

You little beauty HellG!!! Great insrtuctions.

Worked second time following your instructions. Second time because I had to download the new files from your post (post #5 - Monday January 11, 2010 at 22:10) and replaced the original files in the Concordance folder.

Anyway, I just wanted to say a big thank you for helping. I was googling and searching forums like crazy for hours yesterday without success until this morning when you replied.

I've now pasted your instructions into Word and saved it for future reference!

Hi HellG,

Although your modified concordance software link doesn't work for me due to some firewall problem, the general method of adding code into Harmony is exactly what I am looking for.

I registered to say thank you!

HellG,
I am trying to follow your instructions precisely but I cannot get
Concordance to open. When I click to open a Window flashes momentorily,
less than a second, and that,s it.
Have i missed the point somewhere? I very much want to to use this facility
for it is what I have been looking for ages.
Could it be something to do with Win 64bit?

This would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for all your help so far. I feel that I am so close to figuring this out.

Kirb112, Are you still trying to get the software? I did a search in Google and found the following link

[Link: hellgi.funpic.de]

I have downloaded the software, but have yet to try it.
