I still don't know why you're still here. You don't own
a harmony, you don't like them and you obviously don't
want to help anybody. Don't you have homework to do?

Open forum my friend, and I lurk in it for no other reason then to help insure innocents aren't convinced to drink the koolaid, by fanboys such as yourself. I don't own a Harmony, and honestly don't know why that matters..? I've never said I don't like them. You've drawn that conclusion on your own. I think I've help many first timers in this forum who simply aren't aware of anything beyond the marketing juggernaut that is Harmony, and are further brainwashed by some regulars here that claim Harmonys are the end all to be all of the remote world.

I tried to keep a friendly, light hearted presence here, but your animosity towards me always degrades threads.

Man I wish I was still doing homework.

smokinghot,

You are way out of line here. The only thing you are achieving by your abuse is to turn off casual visitors of these forums. In this thread, someone asked for some advice, someone else offered some, and then you made a sarcastic remark of no benefit or use to anyone. Just look through the thread: whilst all the contributions by everyone else are reasonable, not a single one of yours is.

Sorry Guy,

There's history between akirby and myself that you not aware of, and he's dragging into this thread. I apologise to the OP for being off track.

smokinghot,

Apology, of course, accepted.

ps. I am aware of some of the history. I am in the process of deciding whether or not to buy a harmony for my mother and hence I have been reading, for the first time, some of the harmony threads. The 'history' between you and akirby interferes with quite a lot of them. My understanding is that you don't have a harmony, and don't want one, so I don't really see why you feel the need to post anything in this particular forum. Wouldn't your time be better spent in those other Remote Central forums where the products are of more interest to you?

I had no intent on extending my involvement in this particular thread, but since you did pose a question... You right of course, I don't own and/or want a Harmony. My involvement in one of the more heated threads of this forum labelled me both a troll and Harmony hater. Which isn't the case, although some will try to lead you to believe otherwise.

What I have found in this forum, is some regulars make some outlandish claims about Harmonys. I don't know how much lurking you have done here, but I do try help those looking for information on choice of purchase. A harmony may not be the best bet for all in the market, and I take exception to those who spread misinformation about the product. I've always been impartial in my posts, and stick to the facts. I will pop in from time to time, (as I did here) and give a friendly jab. If some take themselves so seriously that cannot find the humour in a light hearted comment, that's a fault of theirs...not mine.

Good luck on your search.

Again OP, I apologise.

lol smoking you're hilarious! keep up the good vigilanteism against these evil Lex Luthor like Harmony owners, trying to take over the world one activity at a time!!!!

jokes aside, and in smokings defence, i have seen ALOT of misconstrued info strewn about in this forum, and smoking just likes to make sure the facts are always clear.

to the OP, i own a harmony 670 that my wife uses in the bedroom. we were having issues with a sticky button, so i called in to logitech to honour the warranty. i was quite pleasantly surprised at the process. they speant maybe 5min tops going through steps to make sure it wasnt simply a SW issue, and in fact a faulty button. once this was verified they said they are sending out a brand new unit which i will simply register online, and this will disable the previous one which i then am to discard. yup, THROW IN THE GARBAGE!

4 days later the brand new unit showed up and all is good again! so as long as you're under warranty, save yourself some frustration and have them send you a brand new unit!

all the best!

If that comment is #4 then before I could look for the humour I'd need to know the relevance.
