Good afternoon.

How do I know when my Harmony One is fully charged?

I've had it on the cradle for awhile, however, there are no lights on (other the the blue cradle light). When i press the one button, it shows the battery charging icon in the middle of the screen, but that does not seem to be filling up.

Is there any way to check on the remote how full the battery is? How long should charging take?

Thanks.

As I understand it, the battery icon on the remote is the (somewhat vague) guide to how full the charge is. From what the manual says about charging, it appears that the intended use is that you replace the remote in the charging cradle when not in use, so as to keep it fully charged. YYMV.

I've got the same issue with my harmony one. I place it in the cradle, the large battery icon shows up with no animations (My old 785 used to animate from 1 bar to 3 bars while charging). then the slideshow kicks in, then the display fades.

I have left the control in the cradle overnight and it is still not fully charged (1/4 charged the next day).

How long should it take for the harmony one to fully charge? I cant find this info in the instruction manual but I would of thought overnight would be more than enough.

The proper battery icon is very small and in the upper right hand corner...not the big graphic in the middle. Once charged, the battery icon will be fully green and drop from there.

What shows you that it is 1/4 charged?

Both icons only show 1/4, and the little icon will only ever show a redish orange for empty, and after 1 whole day on charge it has still only gone upto 1/4 charge.

Looks like i've got a faulty unit.

No no ... there is a back light bug that causes the screen to get stuck on which in most cases you won't notice its stuck. It happens when you hit the power button while the screen is still off and set the thing down for the night. Here is how the bug can be worked around for now over in the forum at Logitech. Check post number 16, read the rest of the thread if you want more background.

Harmony One - battery 1day life, firmware or hardware issue?

Aaa wait a minute; I missed a bit about your post so I don't think this is the same issue, but the bug is nice to know about too.

As I understand it...the battery graphic that is on the screen while the remote is in the cradle is just an unanimated icon. It doesn't indicate the actual charge on the battery, just that it is charging. This graphic doesn't change and isn't meant to change. The real battery charge indicator is shown in the upper right corner of the remote only when it is removed from the cradle. It would however make much more sense, IMHO, to have the icon on the screen while in the cradle to show actual charge. Maybe they'll do that in a future SW upgrade

Hi
What please is exactly the purpose of the large (whitish blue) light on the actual charging stand?

Just to let you know that the base is receiving power

I would assume to show that power is going to the charging base. By the way, this is the first Harmony remote I've truly been impressed with. What a great change from the previous designs.

I've used the RTC remotes and actually like this one better.

The light on the base doesn't do anything useful - just switch it off!
The tiny indicator is not meant to be something accurate that you can measure, it's not likely to be faulty, and the best thing to do is to forget about it - leave the remote on the base whenever it's not in use, making sure its display shows that it is making proper contact with the terminals, and then it will never be low on charge.
