As I understand it...the battery graphic that is on the screen while the remote is in the cradle is just an unanimated icon. It doesn't indicate the actual charge on the battery, just that it is charging. This graphic doesn't change and isn't meant to change. The real battery charge indicator is shown in the upper right corner of the remote only when it is removed from the cradle. It would however make much more sense, IMHO, to have the icon on the screen while in the cradle to show actual charge. Maybe they'll do that in a future SW upgrade
