Kate: I'm not familiar with digital radios, but you might have a better chance of getting an answer posting in the Home Theater forum as well.

Katie: what do you mean by digital radios?
1) satellite radios: signal comes from satellite, it is mostly designed as a car radio replacement for people who drive a lot and long distances.

2) Internet radios. stand alone Radio is hooked up to the internet and uses the internet radio stations.
--- Philips FW-i1000 [Link: sonicbox.com]
--- Ericsson Cordless Internet Radio H100 [Link: ericsson.com]
3) Mp3 players

Re. the first part of your question, this very topic was broached in the letters pages of the February issue of HI-FI CHOICE

http://www.hifichoice.co.uk

To summarise: The main advantage of DAB over FM is that you will be able to receive a high quality noise free signal by using a small and inexpensive indoor antenna. It also has the capability to carry more radio stations than FM.

As for particular models, I'm afraid I can't help. Best to try the link above and ask there.

I think she will. I'm sure I heard it in a song about 20 years ago.

Yes thanks Mason,
I've had a look at those sites, but I couldn't get a copy of HiFi Choice for the letters page. WHSmiths had sold out, never mind!
I wasn't looking for a wave finder or a MP3 player as I don't want to use it with my computer.

Thanks again
Kt

Did you check out the TUNER section? There are reviews of several different DAB devices, including the Videologic DRX601...

[Link: hifichoice.co.uk]

Scan do them at £346.62 (inc VAT) for the ES(Silver) version and £316.08 (inc VAT) for the E(Black) version. Bit pricey, but they're about as cheap as you'll likely to get at the moment.

David

PS Scan do a "Today Only" page whereby they knock a little more off their regular price. Have seen them on there several times.

Oh, and have got a copy of said mag. and can forward if so wish.

UPDATE.
Forget Scan. I've just found them on UNBEATABLE for £241.99 and £277.99 respectively. They also do a "compact" variant called the DRX601ESM @ £277.96
