Anthony did I say that I watched the SD DVD TFE on the HDXA2 within a week of Blu-ray coming out? Not at all! Where are my posts lies? I'll wait for you to try and spin something. I guess I should tell you that I don't own an HD DVD player and yet I own a PS3! Anthony do you have any posts that are helpful to anyone?
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

Yup! T.W.A.T. would not be the same without him.

your posts are full of lies because nothing you sayu is even remotely beleivieble. You showed your true colours in your last post that you are full of sh!t. Do you think anyone but Bookaronie or StealthX is taking your comparison seroiusly? You saw the BD in June of 2006 but you could not make a comparison to the DVD until 2007 when you sawe the DVD on an HD DVD player. The BD player or version of TFE is not important in the discussion of the SD vs BD version of the movie but the HD DVD player is? Not only that but in a discussion on the BD TFE you also add how Sony should apologise for minidisk?

If you hate Sony and because of that you feel compelled to love HD DVD and hate BD then so be it, but don't expect anyone but the most deranged HD DVD fanboys to take your comments even remotely seriously.

Anthony do you have any posts that are helpful to anyone?

many, do you have any that are not full of BS? and where you are not CPshilling for HD DVD?

LOL, seriously, i am more entertained arguing with my 5yr old daughter. at least she can read, spell, and structure a sentence!! here i'm buying a PS3 soley for a BD player either today or tomorrow after work for the CI's to install when they set up my new speakers this weekend (gotta take the TV off the wall), yet somehow i'm an HD-DVD fanboy...?

i gave up even attempting to converse with this clown awhile back, i would urge anyone else to do the same. just don't acknowledge him and he'll go away... well at least he can stick to T.W.A.T., where it seems his input is appreciated - although i doubt it actually is.

Aww it's so cute when BD fanboy's sidekick drops in to protect him. I'm still waiting on where he contributes! It's funny that when doing a recent post search you are always right behind his posts, usually in nonsense threads that are completely worthless like T.W.A.T. Could you kids please get away from the adult table we're trying to have a real conversation.

Oh and seriously djy you look awfully pathetic riding anthony's coat tails.

LOL

lol, you were the one that said there were nop titles
that used it (and then admitted you were wrong when you
realized every Fox title has it as well as some from other
studios on both formats)
and I also pointed you to a player. So can you tell me
where I posted anything but facts to your constant nonsense?

You live in a fantasy world. You never named the player.

I am going to list a few advantages for both formats:

Blu-Ray has more studio support. Deciding on a player might depend on the movies you want to watch.
Blu-Ray has more hardware support. Toshiba is the only manufacturer making HD DVD players at the moment. But an Onkyo HD DVD player should be available soon.
Picture quality is about even, despite what some people might say otherwise.
Audio quality is about the same unless one format uses a codec not available on the other format.
Disc capacity-
Now, the Blu-Ray camp will preach to you about Blu-Ray being better because their discs can hold 50 gigs vs. HD's 30 gigs. However, HD seems to offer a lot more features and interactivity that BD can't. In fact, I haven't seen a single example of BD using all of that extra space to its full capacity. If a multiple disc movie or box set is released on both formats they always have the same number of discs.
Cost of players-
Price of standalone players are much cheaper and you get much more for that lower price with the HD DVD players.
Features-
Better interactivity that is available with ALL HD DVD players because they are mandatory from the start. BD players sold now will not be able to do everything that the format will/could provide because the BDA decided to create 4 different profiles of players (3 video/1 audio). Let's face it, BD was forced to release their players before the full specs were in place. And I'm guessing a lot of Blu-Ray consumers have no idea their player might be outdated soon. There is even talk of a lawsuit:
[Link: tinyurl.com]

The companies backing BD are also some of the biggest receiver companies and they seem to have created the BD format to force people to upgrade receivers that work fine now just to hear the new HD audio formats.
You can say that it is not a fair comparison comparing the PS3 to a HD DVD stand alone player, but that contradicts with what most are saying. They are saying that the PS3 Is the best BD player option right now. People are saying it is as good with PQ as the other BD players. It also has the best chance to not be a doorstop when the next BD Profile1.1 & 2.0 BD players come out. Not only that, but without the decoders the current BD players will NEVER be able to play those HD audio formats because they do not have HDMI 1.3 either.
My thoughts on Sony-
I really never liked Sony due to the FACT that they always want to corner the market with alienated products. Blu-Ray for one is really a great product just as HD DVD is. But Sony should have went with Toshiba & the DVD Forum to work hard with HD DVD, but they chose to go against it and forced the industry into another stupid Format War. Did Microsoft force gamers to buy an HD DVD player with the Xbox? No. Did Sony force gamers to buy a Blu-Ray player with the PS3? Yes.
My thoughts on the format war-
I really have no idea if one format will prevail over the other. And nobody else does either. Even though some people THINK they know.
Final thought-
There is a possibility both formats will fail.

It is indeed.

i just did a thread search on these two,

I’m honoured.

and OH MY LORD,

Please no, just David will suffice.

these 2 stay up all night

Whilst I cannot speak for Anthony you are, for myself, indeed correct. I do stay up all night, I have to I work nights.

giggling back and forth in the INTERMISSION section!!!

That is a scandalous falsehood! I may snigger, I may laugh, I may even have a good guffaw, but I do not giggle.

neither one have them contributed
ANYTHING to do with electronics in the 10 pages i searched!

I used to love a verbal fight, the parry and thrust of a good argument etc. From my experience of forums, however, I find that views on a vexed topic almost invariably become far too deeply entrenched, the protestations increasingly strident with, of course, its then ultimate degeneration into a he who shouts the loudest has got to be right slanging match - which, to my mind at least, benefits and gives credit to no one. I long since gave up the fight.

mind you i suspect any social outcast

How did you know I carry a bell and chant “unclean” to anyone who comes near?

that stays up chatting

I think we’ve already covered that.

in the intermission section section

No, I’ve not been “sectioned” - quite yet.

of a remote control forum

Your first correct statement, congratulations! Oops! Sorry, I take that back, it’s actually your second (or third if we add our agreement over the hilarity of this thread). Still, none of us are perfect.

has failed in every other aspect of his life

My wife, children, two dogs and cat are demanding proof. (Well, actually they’re just demanding, but proof nonetheless would be good).

therefore
couldnt afford any gear anyway! LOL

Been there, done that, read the book, seen the film, got the (RC) tee-shirt and found there are far more important things in life than wanting to know how much to spend on a HDMI cable.

thats too funny, thanks chillin, that made my A.M.! LOL

You missed the irony in this too?

ummm no actually you didnt, instead you ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME to respond to each individual sentence of a thread that took me about 30 seconds to post!! LOL

i'm sure you think you sound very witty with your silly word play. you don't. even your fellow chaps in the UK think your very silly. FYI, raising kids AND working nights is no success story my friend.

seriously DJY, you've hopped onto the wrong coat tails man, give it a rest.
