For those interested, I've found some discrete codes for the new Polk XM Receiver. They are:

5000 0000 0000 0001 001B 0072 -- On
5000 0000 0000 0001 001B 0073 -- Off

Anyone know if there are discrete codes for Direct tuning (as opposed to Preset A/B)?

I have the IR codes for the Polk. Extended RC5 or RC5x...

Doesn't look to be a discrete for the preset/direct :(

The discretes in post 4 of this thread are exactly the same RC5 commands as the discretes in post 1.

For use with a Pronto, the version in post 1 is better. If your non-Pronto remote that takes Pronto Hex programming input doesn't support the version in post 1, the version in post 4 is a good fall back.

Here are more Pronto discrete codes for the Polk XM XRt12 tuner; note that the discrete power codes and the Chn+ & Chn- codes are not on the supplied remote....

Has anyone out there found any other codes that control other functions??

Enjoy,

I assume you mean learned code format. The RC5 format uses a toggle bit, meaning a bit that changes upon every press. Using the learned code format that bit remains the same, so if the device dosen't ignore the toggle you could not use the same key twice, i.e entering 11 would be a problem or using a channel command multiple times in a row. These are the channel commands:

RC5 Device: 27 Function: 80 Toggle: 0 Channel +
0000 0073 0000 000A 0040 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0020 0040 0040 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0CC1
RC5 Device: 27 Function: 81 Toggle: 0 Channel -
0000 0073 0000 000A 0040 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0020 0040 0040 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0CA1

From the 5000 code 001B(27 decimal) is the device number and 0050/0051(80 and 81 decimal) is the command/function number- you can then enter the device number and function number spread into Make Hex(PC) or IRUtilities(Mac), using the RC5 irp in Make Hex or choosing RC5 in IRUtilities, to make the RC5 learned code version. I also seem to remember a utility where you entered the 5000 code and it gave you learned code format.

I have only had this tuner for a few days. For now it looks as though my only choice is going to be to leave the unit on all the time which I'd rather not do. I say this because the discrete power on IR code does not work reliably at all. It's horrible. It is the only code I am having a problem with. All of the other IR codes for this tuner are working properly. (Using the IR codes as shown a few replies up.)

I should add that I am controlling the tuner via my TSU7000 with the latest firmware installed. The IR codes are outputting via RF from my TSU7000 to a Philips RF Extender. The only way I could get the power on IR code to work properly even half the time was to adjust the positioning of my RF Extender. None of the other IR codes for this tuner require that I reposition my RF extender. Does anyone have any ideas?

Also, does anyone know by chance if the display menu can be locked, so that it does not scroll? I am running the composite video out to my dlp projector (no burn-in) and the display only stays up for like 10 seconds or something then starts scrolling veritcally. It is really annoying. I'd just like to be able to see at all times what artist and song are playing without having to use the remote.

Thanks,
Lowpro

I have an interesting update on my problem. I discovered that if I take my TSU7000 70 feet away from my home theatre to my bedroom the power on IR code works flawlessly each and every time. While in my home theatre which is only 20 some feet from the RF Extender it is completely hit or miss and mostly miss. Should this be telling me something?

I am running my projector and IR543 off the RF extender as well and have not had one missed IR code in all this time. As such, I can't imagine its my RF Extender, but who knows. After all, why would it work from 70 feet away perfectly and not even be somewhat reliable much closer, and why just a problem with the power on code. Outputting straight IR via my TSU7000 works fine by the way.

*Update ... woohoo!!!!*
I have my RF Extender mounted on the back wall in my equipment closet up close to the ceiling. I had it mounted where the Philips logo was showing upright. I simply inverted the RF Extender as I have it on the bracket and WOW!!!, not only does the power on IR code work each and every time now no matter where I am in the house, but all the IR codes for this tuner respond much more crisply. I've been sitting here for 10 minutes turning the unit on and off with the remote and still no misses for the power on IR code. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise. I don't want to get too excited at this point, but it certainly seems like I'm good to go now.

Inverting my RF extender definitely did the trick. Guess I had it installed upside down all this time, so far as wall mounting it goes. I have not been able to get the power on IR code to fail all evening. All the other IR codes are working much faster now as well. Could not be more pleased! Well I could. If the display would just not scroll now I'd be set. I got the display to stop scrolling at one point this evening and I'll be damned if I know what I did. :-( Got it to stop scrolling for a while yesterday as well. I am hoping Polk techsupport might know what I am doing.

To celebrate my success this evening :-) in getting all the IR codes working I went back and tweaked the xm tuner device in my TSU7000 configuration file even further. Much happier with this device now. :-P For anyone interested you can check it out here.
