it was just the presentation.

Or the product?

Guys,

C'mon, there are some of us here who could use a dedicated C4 board. Personally, I need all the help I can get :-)

It's not like he's advertising Pronto's, or RTi's here.

C4 is not a threat to AMX, Crestron or even Elan, and there is no way in hell that any of our customers are going to figure out how to program C4. It could be sold in the supermarket, it doesn't matter.

Lots of resentment here towards C4, I think that's where it stems from. Still not very fair to the original poster IMO.

OK, I came across this forum/thread when a C4 friend emailed me the 'C4-touchscreeen-in-the-toilet" pic from page 1...

(before I begin: this is my first post, yes it is because of this thread, yes I program remotes & Crestron and AMX, and yes my d*ck is bigger than yours)

here's the dealio: anyone who has a problem with Control4 is probably not going to last the next few years in the custom install business. wireless IP systems WILL replace IR & RF - if you think otherwise, you're most likely also hoping this flatscreen phase will blow over so you can celebrate the return of the cathode ray.

the fact is that Crestron and AMX are cool expensive toys that break all the time. i i should know, i fix other people's mess each and everyday. people know it's unreliable, it's built into the product, like a Ferrari or a Porche. that's probably why 80% of the people here probably work on the lower-end, programing Pronto's all day long and trading codes for Aquos descrete inputs :-)

some here will read this, dismiss it, and continue blasting IR into the ether. which is good, because when your customers want real control over thier systems, they'll come to me when you're out of business. that because I've hung up Crestron for C4, because it's a better product, and you have to move ahead.

the C4forums.com has some great info and it's a good resource for people who aren't too busy photshopping products into a urinal --- chumps

anyone got the discrete off for this lame-a** flame thread?

I can't believe I'm the first one to post a response to this crap. I was a C4 dealer and have a C4 system in my house. I now am a Crestron dealer and if you think they are equal or C4 is better, you have a serious reality problem.

Ahh hell, why do I bother? No one was blasting your buddy's forum.

Chump.

well, you posted back in 11 minutes, how quickly do you folks reload around here? i'm certainly not blasting the forum, i just think this thread got a little one sided, especially when faced with facts.

never said C4 was equal to Crestron, i said it was better.

crestron makes cool products, but i can't stand crestnet and the fact that everything is proprietary. the amps won't turn on if the net is down. plus, there is zero resale value after people give up on thier systems. but i hear the crestron wireless dimmers and thermostats are cool, oh wait, crestron doesn't have any of that. my b

OK, so rebooting a router or an access point on an IP based system every week is better than AMX or Crestron? I wonder how much you really work with the stuff or whether your dick is really as big as you think it is.. The ONLY downfall to AMX and Crestron is the idiot who programs it. These systems will only do what you download into it.. Garbage in = Garbage out.. I too spend countless days fixing systems that others have bastardized with their incompetent programming on otherwise very well installed and engineered systems.

you might want to review all that's been said about C4 here before you start making statements like this. Most of the substantive comments on C4 are from installers that can do IP work while in a coma.

Why would I care about that? I had one when I was a kid, a white one that was about four or five pounds, that I had to give away when the neighbors couldn't stand the noise any more. Who the hell cares WHAT size duck you have?

It is nice to see that people are not embarrassed to name products correctly. Or that, subconsciously, they can't keep from telling the truth. At least in the beginning, the Pronto NG put the "F" right back into the middle of "NG" where it belonged; Marantz's Wizz.it really did wizz beeg time; and from what I have read in this forum, C4 blows up pretty nicely.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ahh, I see the problem. With a D*ck as big as you say it is, it has obviously stopped the blood flow entirely to your brain.

Seriously, you sound like a 4' tall tough guy. I think I shall call you Little Hitler from now on. I sure hope you hang around and participate some more. I would like to learn from you as long as I don't go out of business first. Maybe you could teach me about IR, I know that you know a lot about IR since your an Inbred Retard.
But at least your an Inbread Retard with a big D*ck right :) Maybe its time you tuck that thing between your legs and limp home to mama.

Get used to these words Little Hitler:
Clean up in isle 4.
