Am actually considering 15 passenger for the family, and since several of you own them for installs, thought I'd ask how they've been for reliability.

Have had a Ford E350 15 pass since '96 but it's time to look around. Is the Ford still worth looking at in the new model?

We rented an Express while on vacation and it seemed more solid and stable than our Ford, but maybe that was age and wear..

Ive had tp do a wp, alternator, radiator, and fuel pump since Ive owned it.

door hinges are notorius for breaking on the cargo doors

I personallt dont care for the fords. too boxy, clunky, rough, noisy, etc

Just bought the sprinter. THE BEST TRUCK ON THE MARKET!!!! All i know is i drove it from rockchester to Longisland a 6 hr drive and went through less then 3/4 of a tank. now that is amazing. I fill up once every 2 weeks and i work that thing 7 days a week. hands down amazing! We have the 2500 with the 140 wheel base and the high roof. can't stop raving about it!!

Overall I think the current GM offering has more power, better mileage and a significantly better chassis than the Ford. Unless Ford has done a redesign in the past year or so that I'm unaware of. In terms of steering and stability Ford has had a few issues, often relating to the fact that they insisted on keeping the twin I beam front end thirty years after everyone else gave up on it.

Holy crap! Are all your jobs around the block? I go through a tank-full in about 3 days. (That is when I actually FILL up, and not 5 bucks here, 15 bucks here. ) Still cant deal w payin over $50 for a tank of gas, so I do it in stages to make me "feel" better:)

I've been 'stuck' with a Ford for 4 Years.

If you don't mind 10mpg and a squirelley front end(not to mention the body noise) they get the job done.

The GM's handle better, get better mileage, and are quieter.

I'm seriously considering a Sprinter.(if deisel comes down a little or I decide to make my own 'bio fuel' at a mere 70 cents a gallon after a $1500 investment in equipment)
I'm still calculating the benifits of that!

If not, I'm going for the GM.

Even in box van form, it's ten times better than the Ford!(I drove a GM prior to the Ford)

No more Fords for me!

A lesson learned!
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

Surprising, but sure good to know. The Ford pickups have always been best sellers. Thanks for all your comments.

You might want to check that stat. Many of those years that the Ford pickups were the "best sellers" it was only because GM splits their pickup sales between Chevy and GMC. In terms of chassis' out the door Chevy out sells Ford. It's part of the reason GM tried to figure out how to kill the GMC brand. My van is the GMC Savana 2500 AWD. very handy in the snow and on muddy construction sites. We should also see a "hybrid" version of the 5300 motor in the van soon. 10% better economy with a built in 120V\20 Amp generator. this has been available in limited form in the Pickups for over a year.

fords are great if you just want cheap...sorta like av equipment...you get what you pay for.
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

Your getting one for your personal vehicle? How many kids do you have man? You know, a few years ago they came up with this invention called "pulling out".

Its an amazing piece of technology. It allows you to drive fast, sporty cars. It keeps other people from taking a dump while you drive. It allows you to eat at nice restaurants and makes it so that when you get pissed on in the mens room, its your own stupid fault and not the person laying in front of you.
Gunga.....Gunga....GU-Lunga

And since Ernie won't keep count, I will. Hes up to 249, and counting.

Wholly crap Dude... Whats with the personal attack? If the guy wants to have a ton of kids thats his business.
:-p

My first thought was that it seems like most people are getting away from the 15 passenger vans, at least as far as hauling people is concerned. The NCAA and other groups have banned, or at least put restrictions, on there use because of all the accidents in recent years. If it were my kids, I'd look into that.

If you go anywhere, including a vacation, a 15 pass lets you take out the back seat or two and put tons of stuff in. Others can sit comfortably for longer periods since it's two to a seat instead of 3 or 4.

I thought it was too big as well, but a 12 pass would cramp our style now.

Yes, I know of the hazards, but station wagons are out!

Thanks to all!
