Agree with wildulmer. It’s the price of providing good service. Especially if the product has history. But moreso because you want to provide the best service you can.
Think of it another way. You said you don’t want to keep one on the truck, but it is no problem for you to do two truck rolls to accomplish a repair. How much is that costing you? What if you just had one spare, and every failure was a single truck roll and then you were done? You are money ahead.
I keep a few URC remotes on my truck, so an issue is done with one truck roll, and the client has no additional downtime. Although Sonos failures are very rare, I did replace a Connect on Saturday again, with a single truck roll.
I believe you need to rethink your position.

This is the huge benefit to SnapAV buying MRI. They just opened a branch in the middle of our service area right before the SnapAV purchase. They now carry the product in the branch. I can swing by in the way to a job to grab one if needed

If stocking a $400 item hurts a company, the company is not being run properly. Sorry, just a fact.

We have been having issues of wattboxes falling off the OvrC and not coming back until you physically unplug and plug back. Imagine doing that in dozens of job sites. Also honestly the latest updates to OvrC are ridiculous. You can’t automatically add devices after you add the first one. They can’t transfer take-over equipment to other dealers account New 310 Router remote access is SO slow. New 310 Router built-in OVRC Pro is not really a full OvrC Pro. Can’t do this, Can’t do that. We are wasting to much time with their products lately....

We have been having great luck with the WB-700CH-IPV-12. So far zero failures.
We even did a swap out at two projects where we had 10+ IP controllable power strips from a different manufacturer. The models we replaced would fail constantly. Some had been replaced twice.

That’s just like the one that failed for me, in chassis form. Prob the new ones have the bugs worked out.

I've had a few loose all of the odd numbered outlets. Snap replaced then quickly. Based on this thread I'm guessing its not that unusual. I've never had a SurgeX unit fail, so I may need to go back to them They still don't have multi-site centralized management system, correct? When you use them do you manage them through OVRC/Domotz etc.?

Domotz. Domotz is only remote management AFAIK - please elaborate.

I've installed quite a few and had my first WattBox failure today. The bottom row of receptacles is out.
Most of the units I have installed are the 12-Outlet Chassis version and some of the smaller 3 & 5 outlet versions.
The one that failed is the WB-700-IPV-12 (non chassis) which I've only installed a few of.
Not sure if the chassis vs. non-chassis models are built any differently, but I've never experienced an issue with the chassis mount model.
