When I see something like this I always think "how would i explain this to my dad" and envision the ensuing nightmare.
they provided and answer to a question nobody asked.

Everyone’s answers makes me wonder who picked the best of CEPro winners.
Civil War reenactment is LARPing for people with no imagination.

Went to visit their show house in Philly’s mainline area and was mildly enthusiastic about it. The coolest thing I saw was zoning valves for hydronic heating systems. They were also very motivated about their LV lighting fixtures. The touch surface piece was kind of cool but obviously limited. Overall it was a very forgettable experience.

Alexa, open blinds. Done. Easier.

I cant imagine the vast majority of my customers would want those markings on their furniture, walls, etc.

Yes, talk about non-intuitive.

I think the touch surface thing is interesting. I would like to see it in person. Is it just a sticker on the surface you would see with the back box hidden underneath?

They better be reliable if they are putting them in showers.

Correct, adhesive decal positioned over the module- works through most any material. They have keypads with similar layout.

Wow! This is the stupidest thing I've seen a while.
Holly crap, this is idiotic.

Why would you want to learn / memorize some non intuitive swipes/touches vs. using speach.

How the hell do you even start explaining it's use to guests and help?

Wow, this is stupid.

This is a great point. Thanks to this forum, since 2007 I’ve been trying to make my remotes as intuitive as possible. Ironically, I learned this lesson from Mr Over Complicated himself, when Ernie once said something about every remote should allow the 80 y/o grandmother to walk in the house and figure out how to watch tv without help. This interface is absolutely everything opposite of that philosophy. And it was given a best of 2018 by CEPro

I have a hard enough time convincing people the the arrow is play, the square box is stop, the single quote marks are pause, etc.... people are dumb. There is nothing intuitive about this. Might make a cool future movie prop though..

my 0.2

--- product
1) I think it is "interesting" (as a concept)
2) did not check if there are more models but if not it is too limited (5 butons in X config)
3) "Be sure to avoid any Air gap between the underside of the mounting surface and the Touch Surface." scares me

--- coments
1) I agree that the decales suck, BUT if they are just decals meant to show where to press on the 5 spots (that is how it looks to me), then who cares, just print smarter decals (or even something else to mark the spots)

2) I don't know if many posts here are meant to be sarcastic or if it is because my parents immigrated here from Greece (and so I have been there many times and have had relatives visit here that only speak Greek) or that I live in the Montreal area where some people are more Anglophone and some are more Francophone or because I hate it when someone is talking while I am paying attention to something (like a film, but I prefer a well designed visual interface to an audio interface. Even my Grandpa in has last days with full dementia where some days he thought he was 8 years old new what meant to do but if I ask several people what that first button does some will say "record" others "tape" others "DVR" and if you add more languages it becomes even more confusing.

They show the decal in a shower. I wonder how long it will stick in that environment or stand up to cleaning. Maybe the device comes with a pack of decals, allowing them to be "renewed" from time to time.
