But he did parrot Trump as to why he had to "kill all of the Jews".

Trump: "There is an invasion going on at our southern border".

PA Killer: "There is an invasion going on at our southern border. The Jews (HIAS) are bringing them in to kill my people"

Guest on Fox News: "There is an invasion going on at our southern border. They're bringing Small Pox!!" (I'm assuming FOX was airing a repeat from pre-1980 when Small Pox was eradicated).

Yeah, because him being crazy had nothing to do with it. I still say it was all Jodi Foster’s fault that Hinkley shot Reagan.

NO! Leave her alone! That one is totally on Trump! If I look, I'm sure I can find a link to the story.

I’m not big into social media. I would get in trouble. However you guys strike up some good conversations. This latest attack is very sad. I’m tired of hearing it’s because of guns. I don’t own one. Criminals, physcos, terrorist and assholes could care less about laws. They will just buy the gun off the street. Or find another means to harm.

Part of the problem in this country and maybe the whole word is that people are making HUGE assumptions about what the other guy said/means. Its even harder now because everyone has a voice they can toss out for the world to see/hear.

Attacks are not "because of guns". Crazy assh*les are responsible for attacks. Whether its a theater or a church or pipe bombs in the mail. Sane people get that. Sane people don't expect the government to make more laws that criminals will follow. Sane people don't expect criminals to follow the rules. Not one single sane person is suggesting this.

"they will just buy the gun off the street" is absolutely the exact problem that the "crazy liberals" want to solve. They want to solve this problem by altering gun legislation that law abiding citizens will follow (you know because they are the good guys with the gun and they always follow the law).

The guns on the street came from law abiding citizens who purchased them. We need to put a stop to the easy flow of firearms to criminals and the way we can do that is to hold these "law abiding" citizens responsible. Ask them to take a class pass a test written and range and prove they can handle a firearm. Maybe a background and mental health check? And then maybe hold them accountable when guns go "missing".

Blame the antivaxxers for bringing smallpox.

Nothing good ever comes from refugees traveling far in search of a better life.

Ill agree that some want to solve this, but many would push for total confiscation if they could and still elected. But whats a real solution?

The problem with the idea of this is you are talking about a right, not a privilege. A written test would be found to be unconstitutional (similar to literacy laws that southern states put in place to keep blacks from voting). But lets say it was ruled constitutional, you are setting a precedent that would allow requiring licenses for anyone wanting to be a journalist.

A firearms design creates an inherent, potentially fatal, physical safety risk by its mere presence just like a motor vehicle, a pen cannot be put in this same category. Guns should be licensed and registered just as motor vehicles are. That way, as Mac states, if a car or gun you own causes damage you are liable.

You missed the part about rights. A car isnt a right.

The dominant power in an era would love this because it would require journalists to drive on the right or left. It's a page from the autocrats' playbook.

That story is not about inciting riots, which is what I asked you to link me to. In fact, I've cut & pasted directly from your linked CNN article:

Waters, however, did not call for physical harm to the officials or harassment against Trump's supporters.

It's still unnecessary and piss poor commentary from en elected official. She has said many odd and stupid things, so it's kind of par for the course, but by saying these people should be harassed, she's ignoring the fact that there's no way to predict how far they'll go and that is especially dangerous.

You are only liable for damage caused by a car you own if you are the one driving it.

Many of the guns used in crimes in one city came from somewhere else, usually stolen or assembled from parts. Careless ownership is a real problem but that doesn't fall under the heading of 'mental instability' WRT denying someone the gun sale.

Here in MKE, someone who was drunk was pissed off because his food wasn't brought out fast enough, so he went to his car, brought a gun into the place and confronted a waitress before shooting and killing a cook. The next day, the Mayor and Police Chief made statements from across the street and Hizzoner said "This was a felon in possession of a gun- where do they get these?".

Milwaukee is referred to as 'Killwaukee' and has gone from 29th most dangerous city in America to #5 in the five years ending in 2015 and it's not much better now, if at all. I live two blocks from the border of MKE and hear gunfire throughout the year. Sometimes, the shooters come into our suburban city and it's causing people to sell their houses for less than they're worth, which is a terrible trend for the area because it means the shit will ooze in and speed up the rate of decline.

Oh, good- MKE moved up a spot-

Chicago isn't even in the 25 worst cities, yet I read a lot about the murders and shootings there.

I was accused of White Flight when I told someone where I bought my house and I told her that I had lived in a few areas of MKE and was tired of losing my stuff, as well as the other BS going on. When I told her exactly where I had lived, she said "Ooohh!" because they're bad areas.

Of course you would not be liable if it was stolen and properly reported as such...however, you are still liable if you give someone else permission to drive it and damaged is caused.
