You've made it almost impossible to read your articles. Between the ton of adds at the top of the page d the pop up at the bottom that never close correctly or all the way, trying to find the actual article has gotten nearly impossible. Especially on mobile devices. Do any of the people at CEPro ever actually look at your own site? Most of the time when I click on an article, I get pissed off trying to navigate the ads and just close the page without reading anything.

Your point about the mobile may very well be valid, I wouldn't know. I try not to surf websites with a mobile device unless I absolutely have to. Why put myself thru the pain? I kind of laugh at customers now, that we need to go to a website and do something for one of their accounts and they don't have a single computer in the house. Only smart phones and a tablet or two. I mean REALLY!!! Has nothing to do with being old school, you NEED a f^n computer still in this day and age. People are just.... let me stop.
I have no problem with CePro's website using Firefox and ad blocker on my computer. I'm happy.

I just deactivated my iPad's Verizon account today. I have been paying monthly for this thing since i got it and i rarely use it. It only leaves my backpack when im testing a system locally or troubleshooting remotely. I pretty much just use the crestron app.
The recent data breach at equifax had me looking closely at all of my monthly accounts when it occurred to me that for the 10 times a year i use the iPad over Verizons network i can just turn on the hotspot feature of my phone.
My phone has a big enough screen for most internet browsing. When i need to work or pay bills (paperless everything, pay everything online) i use my laptop. Everyones needs are different. Some people love tablets and i cant figure out what the point of them is aside from using them as touchscreens with control systems. The irony of that statement after spending a year of speculating about all the reasons customers would hate the iPad.

It's always been very ad driven, go figure. I will agree, on mobile devices since at or around CEDIA it's f'ing worthless. Every other page is fine on my iPhone. I just don't even bother anymore, even if I see an article advertised there on this page that I may be interested in. Not worth the headache and definitely not worth the energy going to the laptop.

Well, so far I haven't found an ad blocker for mobile devices. But even so, part of the ads are formatted into the same page as the article and can't be blocked. And it's definitely gotten worse since Cedia. Especially that stupid C4 ad that pops across the bottom of the page, and even when you x it out, only minimizes to the corner and doesn't completely go away.

There's definitely a fine line between monetizing the site and totally jacking it up. The Control4 ad is right in the way of reading a paragraph. What's more, I can't even log into it to leave a comment on articles any more, I've attempted to change my password multiple times, get the email, change the password...no worky...... Because I'm definitely itching to leave a comment on the article. [Link: cepro.com]I love the parts where Jason Knott asks him questions regarding how CEDIA plans to help it's members, and for about 11 paragraphs he doesn't state one single solitary thing they're doing to help their members. It's comical. I just wish Knott had the balls to say.."Sooooo, nothing then?".

I have no problem with CePro's website using Firefox and ad blocker on my computer. I'm happy. Really? Most of my customers don't have computers. Why would they? Bills are on auto pay, travel plans are easy enough to do on mobile devices, and email is mostly spam that's also easy to dismiss on a mobile device while on a crapper. I happen to have 7 PCs in my house but wire and I are self employed, we have a kid in 7th grade that needs a laptop, and I'm a geek. It surprises me that you're so closed minded to not see the limited need for a PC in an average home. Oh, btw, don't forget that most working white collar people are using work PCs for few occasions that actually require computers or prunters.

Because time and time again, you need a full functioning web browser to do some things still. There is a lot of stuff you can't do with a phone or tablet browser. Or at the very least, it take 4x as long to do on a mobile device.
I am completely dumbfounded at this revelation, that so many people don't have 'any' computer in their house anymore.
How the f^ you reset your AppleTV when the stupid thing locks up and it tells you have to plug it into a computer running iTunes and reset/refresh it. ??? How you fix your login problem on a site, when the mobile browser won't work to reset password. How you... screw it... I'm just shaking my head.
