I just deactivated my iPad's Verizon account today. I have been paying monthly for this thing since i got it and i rarely use it. It only leaves my backpack when im testing a system locally or troubleshooting remotely. I pretty much just use the crestron app.
The recent data breach at equifax had me looking closely at all of my monthly accounts when it occurred to me that for the 10 times a year i use the iPad over Verizons network i can just turn on the hotspot feature of my phone.
My phone has a big enough screen for most internet browsing. When i need to work or pay bills (paperless everything, pay everything online) i use my laptop. Everyones needs are different. Some people love tablets and i cant figure out what the point of them is aside from using them as touchscreens with control systems. The irony of that statement after spending a year of speculating about all the reasons customers would hate the iPad.
