You are entitled to like or dislike as you see fit. It does not change the validity of one thing i have said. I'd certainly invite you to argue the facts with me and not the personality. I also invite you to point out where I have been arrogant or disrespectful in this thread. If i had said exactly the same thing but with another name and 8000 posts behind me i think much of the attitude I'm getting here would not exist.

It would be vastly different if Jeff was purporting his wares under an assumed identity (cough cough Dr. Sheldon) and trying to trick us. That is not the case. He is being very upfront about who he is and I think in good taste and business practice to not reveal the other manufacture.

I am well aware of Jeff and what he does for the channel. My only point is that the original post is an outright advertisement for Zektor and there are other ways for manufacturers and distributors to do this than create threads in the Custom Installers lounge, both here and over at IP. If this thread was over at IP then he would be directed to the Manufacturers forums would he not?

Ok I'm all ears, explain why. I stand by every word I have said, and nothing I have said can be argued with.
What has happened here is I have made a comment which is in complete accordance with the rules of the site (unless anyone will deny the original post is an ad for Zektor).
I have then been jumped upon by everyone for bringing this to Jeff's attention like I'm picking on their little brothers.

If anyone can dispute the facts with me and show me why I'm wrong I'll concede and go away. The fact is that no-one can dispute that this thread is violation of the forum rules and you are all defending Jeff doing it because you know him better than you know the Sheldon Cooper.

Jeff, please don't think i have an issue with you personally and I'm sorry it turned into what it did. That was not my intention. I just rewatched the video, and reread the original post. It did not come across as a sales pitch in any way. The video is basically a testimonial from a happy client who explains quite well the benefits of this product.

The line of, is it an ad? Is it not an ad? This is often close to call. When Julie posts here about some posting at CEPro, is she advertising? Yet, I don't see anyone calling her out here. I do think that this is a call for the moderators and owners of the site. That you have decided you are the "mod du jour" is a bit funny. If you think this is nothing more than an ad, and of no interest to anyone, and is an ad... It is then time for you to hit the little exclamation point next to the "Quote" button, and let the owner and mods decide. It is their call not yours.

I think you should pay particular attention to this one: "Users may hold only ONE Remote Central user account. Users found with multiple accounts may find some or all of these accounts suspended."

If this forum software is much like most I have seen, the mods can see the IP address of the poster. It is then possible to search for that IP address elsewhere. But, as DrSheldonCooper, you should know all about that. But, I'm guessing you may not have thought about that. So, let's let the moderators and owners decide these issues.
