Im new to the panasonic line and need help.

Q: When a call is forwarded from the autoatendant to an extension, if the extension is not picked up, or is busy why does it not go to the voice mail prompt? Instead, the auto atendant asks to leave a msg, press 2 for another extension press *.

I want the call if not answered or im on the line to goto the VM.

help?

Im not in the office, so the part number might be a bit off.

The voice mail is the TSV50 ( i think?)

You have to forward your extension to voicemail :

1. lift handset (or press speakerphone)
2. press FWD/DND
3. press 1 for forwarding all calls, or 2 for forwarding busy/no answer
4. press #
5. hang up

to cancel forwarding:
1. lift handset
2. press FWD/DND
3. press 0
4. press #
5 hang up

this should do the trick

Will that forward the calls DIRECTLY to voice mail without ringing? Im hopeing to have the calls that if not answered after 4-5 rings it goes to voice mail. Right no after 5 rings it goes back to the operator.

If you do the busy/no answer option it will still ring.

It may be as simple as recording the voice name for each mailbox and checking to see if the number of digits on the extensions are both the same on the Telephone system and the TVS50. Make sure your ports are the prescribed ones on the telephone system and the type of integration is correct. I haven't done one of these in a year but actually the quick setup in the TVS50 takes care of the mail boxes pretty well. I'll see if I can dig up a manual for specifics.

Verify that you have recorded all of your greeting in your mailbox (you have to record different greeting for busy, no answer and general greeting.)

I figured out the what i was doing wrong. When you were telling me to go off hook, and hit DND than 2 than # - my first issues was OFF hook to me ment CO1, not intercomm.

The right answer was "INTERCOMM, FWD/DND, 2, (EXTENSION YOU WISH TO FWD CALLS TO - for me this ment my VOICEMAIL PORT) 107, #, HANG UP

Thanks for all the help guys.

..and Fred, no problem for being a jerk! (:

You discretely made a good point. Where you buy a phone system makes a big difference. If you buy it a Graybar you will get zero support. They don't even know what "KSU" stands for. If you buy it at Capitol, you will get better support than if you call Panasonic support. Same goes for A/V gear- Capitol has the best support. Thank God for guys like you who have a passion for this stuff, as well as a deep-rooted knoledge.
