Today I worked on the old GE 220v Advantium microwave.

Had it "professionally" repaired a couple years ago, and it quit working yesterday. I found the so called pro had broken the bracket that hold the three door micro switches in place.

So, I had to take a boatload of parts out, just to do a temp fix until the part comes in.

Wife asked how I fixed it and I told her I did it just like I fixed the toilet.

I jiggled the handle.... LOL

Got a nest to play with C4 integration, works beautiful!

Found out the downstairs toilet was leaking, 4 hours later the toilet is re-seated with a new wax ring and I fitted it with a high efficiency dual flush system, works REALLY WELL actually.

What a crappy job though.

Left a brand new day labor helper at my house while I ran out to return the backhoe I had rented over the weekend.
I asked him to coil the burial wires I ran between the house and the shed I'm building while he was covering some exposed trenches.
I come home and see what looks like a bundle of wires cut off.
I ask him about it and he tells me that he cut off the excess.
45' from all the wires I pulled that are now buried a total of 89' between the structures under 3' of dirt.

I was not happy with him.

This weekend sucked. Started off having to leave town friday to wire up a vacation home on saturday that was 3.5 hours away. Just before leaving late Friday, my dog who has been sick but as shown signs of improvement since Thanksgiving, peed blood with clots in it in the house. Thought to be UTI from the meds.

So I clean up the house and get to the hotel after midnight. Wake up and call for to see where to go for the complimentary continental breakfast and they tell use the Bistro by the casino. We head over and they servers look at us like we're idiots, give us attitude and say how they've worked there 4 years and never heard of such a thing.

The Cook comes out and asks us, we explain and I even show where on our reservation is shows complimentary breakfast. At this point I don't give a crap about the money, just irritates me how they are treating us. We show him our room keys and he agrees to give us the $3.33 special. I say thank you and we sit down.

awhile later another hotel manager comes by to get more info from us and wants to see our room keys again. He's very friendly but I'm more irritated now, as if he couldn't just ask the damn cook. He THEN gets our order started which we thought was already on its way.

Food comes out and its pretty blah, a little cold, whatever. 2 of us eat, the 3rd guy decided to pass.

We work all day and get the house finished up in the dark, but all done. My wife calls as we are leaving ready to get some dinner and tells me to come straight home cuz rufus isn't doing well.

An hour later she calls me and she's balling, telling me that she thinks he's dying as he just had a small seizure and isn't reacting to her. then suddenly he has another one and he dies in her arms and she tells me he's stopped breathing. I can still hear her crying his name. We've had him almost as long as we've been together, just over 11 years.

I get home around 10:30 pm, say good bye to my best friend and we do what we have to.

Wake up feeling like hell in the middle of the night. Turns out me and the guy that ate breakfast both spend the entire day in gut wrenching pain and nearly certain that it was food poisoning. We and the 3rd guy ate all the same food all day except for the breakfast which he skipped on.

I've had food poisoning before, but this was the worst ever. Plus being sore from a hard day of work then spending the entire day in bed just made it worse. Today was like a hangover from being sick all day yesterday.

So yup, it sucked.

Sofa -
First, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.
I lost my best friend (German Shepherd )13 years ago and still remember the pain.
I have 2 black labs now that are 11 and 10 years old and I dread the day that we're going to have to go through it.

Second, thank you for sharing as this puts things in prospective. All of the sudden my cut cables don't seem like that biguy of a deal.

Wow, sorry to hear Cory. Rough one.

I found out my dad is going into hospice care this week. Still dealing with my mum's death, this is not going to be a fun holiday season.

Just finished our first CCGen2 Control system. It was perfect timing. Basic retro theater install with a 110" motorized screen, snap high end speakers, Aventage Bluray and AVR,apple tv, Row one Theater seating. Turned out really nice.

Customer just had a party with friends last weekend. The phone is blowing up at the office. Everybody wants one. Love it when this happens

Did you work that issue out? I only had a couple minutes to check out the file last night, sorry. Got home after 9. I emailed you this morning before I headed out.

Not yet. Installing Radio Ra2 lighting control next week for this project. We will hopefully have a solution by that time. We have never integrated URC with Radio Ra2 Lighting so that should be fun.

Sorry to hear about Rufus, Cory. It's as bad or worse than losing a family member. I was in NY when Kaner got hit by a car in Chicago. I didn't work for a few days. I still think about him all the time. My brother in-law (kaners owner and the one who was with him when the car hit him) cant even talk about it without tearing up.
