Went outside and picked up the debris from some New Years fireworks and junk. Made sure I didn't burn down any homes in the neighborhood with my mortars, and skyrockets... Looked around to see if any neighbors were giving me the finger or dirty looks, as I got a little carried away last night (I wasn't out there boozin in the streets or anything--- just a huge pyrotechnic onslaught in a quiet little neighborhood) LOL!!! Those mortars sounded like TNT when they went off!!!They were awesome!!!
I had a ton of fireworks that I got on an indian reservation last summer, and a kinda crazy friend managed to score some "commercial class" mortars about the size of grapefruits, and gave them to me also... but it was too dry around here on the fourth of July to fire them off, so I put them away. It sounded like IRAQ outside for about 15 minutes last night!
A large burning chunk of something did land on the hood of my wagon, and burned off about a 2 inch chunk of clearcoat and damaged the paint underneath... but better me than a neighbor.
Today, I started to write down some resolutions, then said F-it!
Watched the DVD of THE WHO's "Amazing Journey". A really well done documentary.
I forgot how good those guys were. Great Movie, (if you are an old fart like myself...) You young punks are all just into Rap & Hip Hop so you wouldn't enjoy it. Just us old guys.
Keith Moon, a crazy bastard, but what a powerhouse of a drummer!
Then watched the film about when the Beatles first came to the U.S. (that for the majority of you guys was another group, that came out during the dark ages)... I tried to get my son interested in watching it, but he was too busy text messaging his friends on his new PDA phone, so I kicked him out of the room. He said he heard samples of their stuff on a JAY Z song (whoever the hell that is)...
Then bummed myself out with a documentary about how the extraction of Oil, has peaked... and the same with Natural Gas and well, I guess we'll all be walking to our jobs carrying our tools on our backs soon, and going to war against China for Oil and other junk we'll need. Then watched the Barrett Jackson car auctions and saw cars being purchased for up to $5,000,000 -- ( A Carroll Shelby Cobra).
Sat there trying to imagine what it would be like to have that kind of "mad-money" to be one of several guys at the auction that purchased several cars each!!!
Going back over a proposal I'm working on for a small commercial job, because I think I've bid it too high... I haven't heard back from the guy... I'll see if I can trim any "fat" out of it and re-email it to the guy, cause I need the money 8>)!
