recently finished this job in a new condo. prewired, but needed some retro work due to the mistakes/omissions made by the alarm company who did it.
living room and master bedroom were both run to the living room head end. used two philips TSU9200 controllers w/RFX9200. considered installing a PCX9200 as well, but the client only has a mac, and wasn't that interested in the 2-way feature. might still do it down the road some time.

I got a hepatits A version 2 shot and health card renewal and then sat through an alcohol awareness class in order to keep my bartending cards active. Yes....the good life.

It looks like a TruAudio HT-66A with WA-6 for the right and left. I say A because I can see the silver cones through the grill. I dont have a clue as to the speakers in the other 2 pictures with the rounded corners on the grills but my guess would be Boston Acoustics or Polk Audio.

On a side note and not to be a dick, How often are you planning on changing those SA-8300s? I cant imagine they are going to be very happy stacked like that.

the speakers in the living room are pinnacle K-80s for fronts, and KLCR for center.
the speakers in the master bedroom are hi-fi works (by sonance), forgot the model number. the living room had enough depth in the walls for the pinnacles, but the bedroom wall had 2.5" metal studs, so we needed a shallow in-wall speaker.
as to the heat issues, i explained the deal to the client and offered a component fan unit from coolcomponents.com, but he opted to see how long they'd last and i thought it would be a fun experiment... afaik the cable company will switch them out if they fail. i don't mind the feedback whitevan, and i knew it was coming, i was just wondering who'd be the first to say it. :)
btw i like those pinnacles (living room, yellow drivers), been using them for years with no complaints. kevlar midbass drivers with titanium tweets. the bedroom speakers have silver drivers.
also, i improved the wire management a bit since those pics were taken. :)

You did a nice job overall. It looks like you started with a nightmare. I think you did a great job on wire management. I've never used Pinnacle, how would you rate them? The yellow drivers make me wonder if they OEM speakers for On-Q.

all kevlar drivers are yellow. i once saw a kevlar helmet that was shot with an M4 rifle, and it's yellow inside. i saw a the insides of a ballistic vest on the discovery channel and it was yellow. the kevlar drivers in B&W speakers are yellow. so in short, my theory is that everything kevlar is yellow.
thanks for the compliment! it was a bit of a nightmare, in that the rears were run to the sides of the living room, 6" off the floor, and there was no speaker wire run to the bedroom, so i used the 3 cat5s as speaker cables, grouping 4 conductors together for each speaker conductor, so each cat5 ran one speaker. no center prewire in the living room either, so i fished through the fireplace.
i would rate pinnacle in-walls next to polk audio or infinity. honestly, they might sound even better. i've always been partial to titanium tweeters though, so i'm sure i'm biased. i've used them more than any other in-wall, and they always perform well.

Hey Kevin;

The install overall looks really clean. One thing I would recommend: buy another vented shelf for the DVD player, so that you don't cook it. Those cable boxes almost glow with the heat they produce.

Daniel should make this thread a sticky..

Ed, that's awesome! The first time one of us gets quoted on T.V. and they use that line!

I can see it now. T-shirts for all of us C.I.'s on the forum, with the remote central logo on the front, and that across the back!

Guys, who's in???!!!

Today, we got to take the day off. Sorry for the crappy photo, but hopefully you can work out what's going on here....

Photobucket

As some of you may know, I work part time in one of the few high(er) end shops left in Brisbane. At about 3:00am this morning, some would-be bank-robbers tried to blow-up the ATM in the bank, 3 doors down from us in the shopping centre. They obviously had no idea what the were dealing with and blew the crap out of the entire place. It looked resemblant of a scene from an old western!

The two adjacent shops were also trashed, but we weren't allowed to go near our shop (3 doors to the right) to even look through the window. It's kinda scary cos the owner has no idea when he'll be able to get in there to see if there was any damage.

What will I do with my day.... ...should go clean out the garage.
