Thanks Barry! Of course it is not too late. Telling us that things will happen is more than sufficient.

This is my first post in this thread but I've already contacted a distributor in my country and several dealers. unfortunatly, as expected, nobody wanted to give any help whatsoever. So I sended an email to the prontoteam asking what they were planning to do about it since there're a lot of unhappy customers out here. I referred to this thread but i'm sure they were already aware. So far I didn't receive any reply!
I think it's thanks to people on this forum that this remote has become what it is now and we are not all developers. I don't care to much about the modules Philips posts on their professional website but I still would like the PEP3 to be available to everybody. I'm sure this forum will develop further and produce very nice modules, scripts and is a great source for help. I thank all the great support here on this forum and Philips keep this forum alive. It's a great tool even for distributors and dealers. By taking the programming software away there'll be lesser people developing great things.

I've had no response from my local distributor. Not even a 'message received'.
I have underlined the the word 'local', because 'local' is hundreds of miles away from my location.I have never contacted them before, I never had the need.
I have now contacted the dealer who sold me the offending article. My dealer is not listed by Philips Pronto as an autorised dealer or distributor. My dealers web site does however state that they are authourised Philips dealers. I do not know if this authorisation extends to the Pronto range.
I hope that my dealer responds.
I hope that Pronto do give the hobbyists access in one form or another. I hope Monday will bring good news.
In response to some earlier posts:
I did not buy my Philips Pronto TSU9600 on ebay. I did not buy it second hand.
I purchased my Philips Pronto TSU9600, new, boxed, with manuals, with software and at the full retail price. I even paid tax on my Philips Pronto TSU9600.

Boy, Philips really messed this up. I got the code from my distributor. I could not use my previous login and had to re-register from scratch. Now, I lost my level 1 and 2 cert and cannot get into the professional area. I sent them an email to see what their plans are to fix the cert issue.

Lyndel and Barry,
Thank you for your efforts to contact Philips and sort through this thing. I am also Level 2 certified, and I also got the same e-mail that every one else did.
As others here, I consider myself well among those who are capable of programming the "Pro" series. I have in excess of 15 years of programming experience, and the Java Script code, to me, is nowhere near as complex as some of the programming tasks I have successfully completed during the course of my career.
I have a TSU-7500, but I have yet to upgrade to a 9600 or similar. I have looked recently, and it seems that 9600s are much harder to get these days than they were about a year ago. I did, however, start a configuration for a 9600, and I do work on that from time to time.
I have the capability to get an account at either or both of the US distributors, but at this time, it seems like a large effort for what is a hobbyist pursuit.
I can only echo what others are saying here in that I hope Philips does not abandon the following they have of people like those here on RC.

All the best, Matthew

How many of us are programmers? O.K. let me rephrase. How many of us are tweakers? So then how many times (on the Pronto alone) have we put a solution together with confidence that we thought of everything and that it will work flawlessly, only to upload it and find it doesn't.
That's what I see here. Philips put a new site up, overlooked some things, and are sorting it out. Give them some time before pulling out the pitch forks.

Many thanks to Barry, Lyndel and others that are trying to find a solution to this issue. Hopefully, things will get sorted out in the not too distant future.

Excellent - thank you very much! I went totally ballistic yesterday because I wanted to integrate my 2nd HDMI switch (Intel Wireless Display) and I realized that (1) I don't have ProntoEdit on my new laptop and (2) I couldn't download it any longer. This now takes care of the issue!!!

I certainly hope that it does not and more importantly will not violate any explicit or implied licensing obligations, etc. Thanks a lot for all the efforts to keep it afloat :)

And if i remember correct The New in Wall unit Will only be supporter thru ver 3.0. And this item was in My plan to use at My outdoor veranda. And i think i read somewhere that it could be Easy converted from an existed 9600 layout

I really hope Philips fixes this. It might not be a problem right now if you have the latest software/firmware. But wait til the first service pack or patch for Windows causes the software to stop working and we cannot get a fix from Philips. Or in my case I would really like to get an upgraded module for my Sonos system with support for the latest features.

Just popping in to pat Barry on the back, he seems to be taking point on this one on our behalf, it's appreciated.
From the looks of their response, the outcry seems to be having the desired effect - a "hobbyist" level seems fair enough but will we still have a path to level 2 and level 3 status from that? I'd certainly like to get those certifications if I could and the online mechanism worked for me.
I'd like to use PEP3 as well... :-))
In all honesty, I wouldn't begrudge paying a modest fee if that would help me get the required "status" to have full "pro" access to developer/training resources on the Pronto devices - Apple (iPhone/iPad) and Microsoft (XBox360/Live) both currently do this for ~$99 and it seems to work.

Thanks a lot for all the efforts to keep it afloat :) Daniel is the person who maintains the files section.
