I was approached privately about whether I was angry with the talk of other solutions. I thought it might be worthy to post an abbreviated answer.

The answer is empatically, NO, not angry at all!

My advice from Philips is that PEP3 will still go through the beta process and be released properly.

Any word on if they will make the final version available to regular customers?

No, there is not. However, if you had an account previously and were able to get back in, I'm hoping that PEP3 will be available there.

... also, any word on any PS support for tsu9300? Assuming, of course, that disclosing it would not be in violation of the NDA.

Thanks!

No scripting for 9300. Sorry. I've said it before and will reiterate now. I know you purchased the 9300 with this hope.

With the product in Beta and the team still producing regular builds the things could in theory change - that why I asked again. But, regardless, the panel combined with the "virtual extender" is a very capable device even without the scripting.

Thanks!

tengizk,

Respectfully,

I have been a part of at least 10 beta tests with Philips. Never during one of those beta tests did they add a major feature right before a release. Scripting on 9300 is a MAJOR feature. Sure, I know it is just flipping a switch but there is lots of testing/regression that must be done. With the current state of events, that will not happen.

I don't know what else to tell you to get you to realize that you should look to 9400 or above. But scripting on 9300 will not happen this release.

Lyndel,

Thanks for the information! As a mentioned befoire, 9300 is good enough for me even without the scripting. I was jsut curios.

Thanks again!

As stated privately, when you initially inquired about scripting on the 9300 around a month ago, I think, I had stated that it was not available when others hinted that it might be in the future.

:-) Not angry or frustrated in the least. I am very glad you are up and running. That is the MOST important item.

I also just wanted to state that if your purchase was based on advice that scripting might be available, wanted it to be known that it was not me who suggested that.

Ummm - Slink-e does not control DVD changers with any good resolve.

Thank you though ;-)

I already have an Slink-e with the 8 port expander card that is not currently being used.

For those of you that are interested in reverse engineering IR protocols, the Slink-e is the only device I know of (I use it) that will return the IR timing values (on off times of the carrier) in microseconds. That is the first thing required.

RTI's IR Library manager also has this functionality...
