I insert a bkround into a page, and the toolbar geets covered. Moving it down shows toolbar, but the lower bar (containing the Hardbutton labels) is still covered. I've tried to 'move backward' the bkround, but to no avail. This simple shtuff is killin me. I have most of the rest of the programming complete. Thanks for all the help...

If you have the updated graphic set (available from Philips web site) they have some backgrounds which are smaller and will fit in between the top and bottom bars. I think the background needs to be 640 x 400 pixels.

Good lookin out, Dave. And another thanks for your Ultimate Pronto Guide- its gotten this guy well into my 'journey'. I have gone from lost to bitten-by-the-bug in 134 pages! I looked to Philips, and I have what they offer already. Unfortunately everything I saw was 640x480. Little too much. Guess my delving into the 'Custom World' is here sooner than I thought. I hope the guys on the IT side will be able to help... Thanks again-P-sout

If you use the "send to back" command for any background image even if it's the full 640 by 480 pixels, should put it behind anything on the page including the top bar and bottom hard button graphics, as long as you are on the system page and not the home or any other source page.

Thats what is nice about the Pronto software versus the Universal Remote MX-3000. The 3000 requires you to insert a background image on every single page and doesnt allow for a full time menu to appear on every page. It sort of like having the benefits of a Crestron or AMX panel with popup pages and a single main page.

Philips / Pronto makes the only handheld remote (that I know of) to offer the main / sub page format. You can get creative with full time source select / activity menus that appear on every page.

That's incorrect. A 640x480 image will not go behind the top bar and bottom hard button graphics. You need to resize that image to 640x400.
May the pronto be with you

No, gwstudios is entirely correct. He was referring to the system page.

Most of us would normally use a single background for the entire configuration. This background is placed on the system page and "send to back" is set to ensure that it is behind the top and bottom graphics. The backgrounds in the gallery are 640 x 480 for this reason.

The only time you need smaller backrgounds (such as 640 x 400) is when you want to put a different background on another page.

I will try the 'Systems' solution. I was, however trying to use different bkgrounds for diff pages. The 'send bkwards' does not work for individual pages, if you want the toolbars present. not for me anyway.

I got it semi-workable by lowering the bkground to show the top toolbar, and below I inserted TextPanels above the HardButtons. Cut©, and away I went...
This is my first attempt, so I will keep on keepin on at getting this down. 'Preciate it ev'rybody...

If all you are interested in doing is resizing, MSPaint.exe will work just fine. Use MSPaint.exe to edit the image and crop it down (resize). All you have to do is go to the properties page for the panel and on the 'Appearance' tab, save the image to hard disk, edit it, then reload it back in.
