Hello everyone......have tried to find this information through these threads....er.....but i cant!
Having considered purchasing a Pronto Pro or RC9200 i am rapidly coming to the conclusion that for the money I might as well buy a PDA for use as a remote. My question is this:

I do not have a pronto (although I have some experience in programming Monochrome versions for relatives)....so if I use TV Remote Software to learn the IR functions I require, is there then a way to transfer those functions back into Pronto Edit to start a new CCF...and then run the TV Remote software in CCF mode. Obviously I could use a CCF from the files here if my device is among them....but if it isnt......

Would very much appreciate any help from all you guys (and gals) out there....keep up the good work......seems to me that the PDA route looks the most promising ....lets hope the software is continued to be developed. There was a post somewhere on here which said that development of TV Remote had ceased....does anyone know if this is true....is version 4.0 going to be the final one???

PS........I could always borrow a monochrome Pronto to learn the codes....but i would really prefer NOT to do this if possible.

If you learn the code in ccf-mode they are written back into the ccf. So you can transfer the file back to the PC and edit it in ProntoEdit, as you would with any other Pronto file.(I hope that was your question)

I don't know anything about a ceased developement, but to fix bugs seems not to be their intention. They only build in new features...

Wilhelm.......many thanks.....what a response...I only posted about 10 minutes ago!!

Yes that was the question.....I couldnt see how to learn the codes into a CCF without a Pronto. I was just thinking that you could only do it via the PC. I didnt realise that you could learn straight into the CCF on the Pocket PC and copy it back. The idea of using a Pocket PC and this software is going from strength to strength......especially when considering the price of a PP or 9200

Many thanks...

I think you have to begin with a CCF file (created in ProntoEdit) and then learn the codes into it.

I'm sure that PDAwin plans additional development. I'm also sure they will try to fix any bugs that are reported.

Hi Dave,

from where do you get the impression they are fixing bugs? I've been reporting bugs to them since 3.0.
The answer allways was: "we are working on it" - but nothing has been done yet. There is not a single bugfix release since 3.0.
You know, I like the product, but not fixing bugs for such a long time does make me angry. Especially since most of them do really need very little effort and should be done in a day or 2.

I get the impression from my communications with them.

I think you expect too much. Very few software companies can respond within a matter of a couple of days.

... but 3.0 was in March if I recall correctly. Don't you thnk that's time enough?
They managed to put in voice control, but not a single bug has been fixed.
