Hey Guys,

I've got a pretty basic Crestron Adagio system I'm putting in my own house and can't seem to get the Mobile Pro and Mobile Pro G apps to actually work. I've added everything properly in SB and then uploaded it to the processor. When I try to connect to my system with the Mobile Pro/G it just continues to initialize.

TS hasn't been overly helpful trying to get this solved. I don't really understand that as I'd be more appt to sell more Crestron, if I got my system working. But thats neither here nor there.

Thanks in advance!

Matt

I dont think you have room on an AES for and ipad and iphone. Especially with a bloated SB program. Are you sure the files loaded to the adagio?? Do you know how to use toolbox? You can see what ipad/iphone files are loaded from the webpages/mobility tab.

Hopefully the whole mobile/mobile g will allow loading direct to device soon....

If you provided this sort of information to me and I was in tech support I'd tell you to ^&%$ off and hang up:)

All you have said is that you've an Adagio system and you cannot get your iPad to work. If your presentation of this problem mirrors your work in general than Crestron may be wise in frustating your attempts at sales since they will only result in unhappy customers and an other compay taking over those jobs.

How have you set up the ipad? Was your Adagio programmed in Systembuilder or Simpl? How large is the VT pro project? What made you think an iPad would work on an Adagio?

Then again, what made you think that just becuase you could pursaude a client to part with his money that you had what it takes to back up that sale? Sorry, I forgot your pursuaded yourself to purchase this system. This is going to be one hell of a lawsuit.

You would be a perfect fit for Lutron tech support then Alan... lol

The Ipad will work on an Adagio system, provided you have enough space. Generally, if the file won't fit, SB will tell you so while trying to upload. As mentioned earlier by ian/av, you want to check and see what is loaded to the processor through toolbox. Delete all files in webpages/mobility and reload your project.

If SB is telling you that the file is too big, you may want to do a couple of things. Delete some unused interface pages in VTpro to accomodate required space. Also, doing an initialize/restore on the processor can clean things up for you . I've had to do this in a couple of instances.

Welcome to the Jungle :)

One could imagine any number of valid reasons for failing to take one of your tech support calls:

1. Nationalism: We don't need any more foreigners taking American jobs.
2. Who can understand you? It's "huh" not "ayy" and organi-Z-ation not ingan-I-zation. This is America. We speak American.

The two beggest reasons for web pages not to be served are the name of the project was not entered correctly into the iPad, the ports were not entered correctly in the iPad or in the program ( or 41794,41795 were used ), or the iPad was not pointed at the processor.

Was the iPad project ever loaded into the Adagio in the first place?

Details matter, particularly when you cannot see the computer and iPad, as would be the case with a tech support representative. You need the facts, all of them since most of these cases the problem is something simple.

When I've attempted to load a project that was too large into a processor without extended memory ( ie., memory card ) I'd get an error message. When I was having some of these issues, coding in Simpl, I was using the incorrect server symbol. Since this is SB ( gee, must be really taxing to write Systembuilder ) this is unlikely.

Most likely that the issues are in the properties setting in Systembuilder or in the setup of the Crestron app on the ipad.--all of whom have been left out of the question.

I hate questions where someone writes it doesn't work, what do I do? How about telling us what you did so we know where not to start. With applogies to Randi Newman, "Mr. President, have pity on the TB man."

Just had a horrible recent experience with Lutron on a 6 year old system that went down on a Friday afternoon. Was told too f$ucking bad for the client, have a wonderful weekend. All I wanted was an RMA... The unit appears to have taken a hit and needs to be fixed.

And why does everyone always pick on the Canadians?? ;)

Well, Since Alan seems to have taken my question personally I won't respond to him because I really just don't care that much.

My system is an AADS, I have uploaded via SB, it's a very basic system. I've got my ports set up properly and forwarded properly, I've got the right settings for it set in SB as far as I know. I'm not sure how to check via toolbox that the ipad program is uploaded.

Unfourtunatly, I'm new to Crestron and trying to learn how their systems work, so if you would like to help... help. Otherwise, find some other thread to whine on. Don't take that the wrong way, but some many in our industry go on and on about how the industry is so OLD and theirs no young blood. This is why! You all make it so hard on guys starting out trying to learn. This is why I never post here... for the most part, its a bunch of little girls bickering back and forth.

GMAN- I'll try that, thanks!

-- It's very taxing! Not really but, when you're starting out... you're starting out!

My ports are:
HTTP: 80
PortA: 41790
PortB: 41791
The PW I set in SB.

I was under the understanding that when I loaded the program in SB and added the mobile apps, the SB built the VT file and added it to the file? Is this incorrect?

Thanks, M
Matt

What did you enter in the setup boxes in the iPad Crestron app?
What is the processor IP?

Did you load the graphics file into the AADS?

None of these questions have you answered--even if you finally gave us some of the required facts--though I still am not certain if you've entered the settings into the iPad because you've not said so.

Being new in not an excuse for not supplying the requisite information. It's in the help files. Moreover, try crawling before running. At this time, iPad is rather complicated, particularly with processors that do not support memory cards.

When you act stupid don't be surprised that you are called stupid--or stupid is as stupid does, and if you are new, you are doing something stupid with an Adagio. It can be done. you ought not to be attempting this till you have some experience with the development tools
