I'd love to see a home owner install that stuff once they get it.....

But even still crestron should not let it be sold new on ebay.

Wait just a second.. they are providing documentation for the installation and they will handle programming remotely.

LOL Good luck with that.

The crazy part is they are selling it for damn near retail. A buyer might as well have a "REAL" CI just install the system properly.

20K for a prodigy system is silly to buy online.

WTF do all you guys care??? it's all about the iPad and your business model should be based on labor/programming models anyway.

Stop acting like a bunch of hypocrites anyway.. especially you Stamp. I can't remember how many times you admonish everyone for worrying about diminishing hardware margins.

For the record...I agree with you ...this is BS...but I thought I'd be the first one to remind everyone of their hypocrisy...hee hee

Now back to to everyone piling on about how unjust this is in our world.

My issue is not with diminishing hardware margins. I cant stand hearing people whine about that nonsense. They claim to be better and different than Best Buy but then they whine because their cost on a TV is more than Amazon is selling it for.

My issue is with nothing being done about rule breakers. If crestron is going to be sold @ ebay then dealers should be told this up front so they can decide if they still want to sell it. The jokers above are not the only ones selling online but they are the only ones selling on ebay.

Is it OK to sell Crestron online? Julie said she was "checking on it" on December 13. 16 days later the site is still up and now they have moved to ebay. So i posted asking Crestron is it ok to sell online? I have an html editor, webspace and a paypal pro account. I can be in business by Jan 1 2011.

I never complain about the world being unfair. I want Crestron to man up and make it clear what the real policy is. I am looking for domain names right now. These are available.

The reality is that the iPad is decades beyond what the current control system offerings for wi-fi panels are.

Screen quality
Wi-fi
Battery life
Form Factor

The iPad is the clear winner in all of these categories. The only CON is that you have to launch an app to connect to the control system. My opinion about that? So freaking what. Now i have a real browser, mail client, endless other games and apps... and i can control my crestron system with it also?

Sign me up.

I am so done with $300 extended battery backs for $3000 touchpanels that wont work properly without a high end network.

39 Cent Stamp,

I am in agreement with you, for the most part. In my home/demo house, I will be installing the new iPad in-wall and desktop docks that Crestron is coming out with. Let's face it, a 9" screen is much more impressive than a TPS-4L or 6x, at least at a $499 price point, plus the cost of the dock.

If my clients want a larger screen or to go with Crestron panels, I will be happy to accomodate them.

Thank you,
Damon

Dear haeonline,

Are you Crestron authorized? If so, do they know you are selling on Ebay?

I don't see the issue with it being sold online.

I do take issue with this:

|Need help Programming? Well that comes with this too. We can consult or show you how to get your system up and on. Its pretty easy with this great package!

How are they going to show the buyer 'how to get the system up and on' without giving the buyer the software? We all know Crestron is religious about not giving the software to anyone, much less clients.

Have you ever seen Crestron respond to a post here? What makes you think they would respond to this? If you really wanted a response from Crestron why don't you address it directly with New Jersey instead of on a message board where they have never given a response before?

Obviously I posted here to get others aware of the issue so I'm not the only one whining.
