I don't see the issue with it being sold online.

I do take issue with this:

|Need help Programming? Well that comes with this too. We can consult or show you how to get your system up and on. Its pretty easy with this great package!

How are they going to show the buyer 'how to get the system up and on' without giving the buyer the software? We all know Crestron is religious about not giving the software to anyone, much less clients.

Just click buy it now under the programming auction title.

Does the Prodigy come with an Out-of-the-box configuration similar to the Adagio? I know that it could be set up for Distributed Audio via Apads without programming.

My next question is more hypothetical, but how long before Crestron comes out with a "consumer" product that can control a media room? A processor, TP (or iPad) and maybe a few dimmers with some simple configuration wizard software.

Bubby,

That's what Prodigy is supposed to be - "wizard-based" programming. It's still probably a bit complex for most non-CIs though.

This whole problem has very little to do with the type of control system - Prodigy or otherwise. Getting items on Ebay that are dealer only products or have strict distribution rights is becoming more and more prevelant in this economy. Despite the "rosy" picture that most news programs and magazines are making it, there is still a very high unemployment rate some of which are many shops that have gone out of business. The world of holding on to inventory has also gone away, so this is contributing to the endless supply of product on Ebay.
