1) Does this happen with ALL learned codes from this remote,
or only some? Also, try some of these tricks:
[Link: remotecentral.com]None of the commands i try to learn the MX-850 result in any activity on the IR activity icon in the top right of the display. Its really weird since the learing seems to go fine. Both remotes have new batteries and i tried learning it in pitch black room also.
I can only think of one thing that could cause no IR activity: that no IR signal was recorded and hence transmitted when button is pressed.
2) Since Marantz uses RC5/6 codes I would strongly recommend
basing your layout on one of the preprogrammed codesets,
since the MX-850 will not learn toggle bit codes. Strictly
speaking Marantz receivers do not *require* toggle bits
for correct operation, but I notice they perform better
with them. Second, are you certain you have the receiver
configured correctly. At least on the models I've owned
(SR-18EX, SR9600) you can configure each input to "auto"
or "digital", and then when set to "digital" the only
way you get to "analog" is by pushing the A/D button.
Marantz receivers only have one code per input, and no
direct access to the analog/digital portions of each input,
so your learned code should not be affecting this.
The reason i had to learn the button is, that the DVD dont seem to be on the IR database (493) as a button -weird since all the rest of the buttons are there.
The learned DVD button click also result in no IR activity.
I now tested more, and can say that NONE of the buttons i have learned from 6 different remotes seems to work!!
I take both remotes under the table in a room with no lights on (only monitor) so that it is real dark. I place the remote 3 cm from the IR end of the MX-850 remote, wait for the ready signal and the response "Good" comes back. Afterwards i save the button.
Its really weird! Has anyone tried this before?
Other learned buttons that i import works fine, bu
3) The hex window is *strictly* for inputting Pronto hex
codes into your configuration. You cannot use it for anything
else.
Too bad! I had hoped to be able to see what was learned on the Samsung, since there is no IR activity when i use the learned buttons...
